Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Start your day with an early morning Serengeti game drive, the best time to see predators returning from their nighttime hunts. Lions, leopards, and cheetahs are often active in the cool morning hours. After breakfast, continue exploring different areas of Serengeti while searching for the famous Big Five and other wildlife species that roam these endless plains. Later, begin the journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing through spectacular landscapes and Maasai pastoral lands. This protected area is unique because wildlife and traditional Maasai communities coexist within the same ecosystem. Along the way, you may encounter giraffes, zebras, and gazelles grazing across the savannah. Arrive near the crater rim in the late afternoon and enjoy dinner while overlooking one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Overnight stay at a campsite within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, preparing for the next day’s Ngorongoro Crater safari.
Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. This massive volcanic caldera hosts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. During your Ngorongoro Crater game drive, you will have excellent chances to spot the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffalo, and the rare black rhinoceros. The crater floor is also home to zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, hippos, and thousands of flamingos around the soda lake. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool while taking in the incredible scenery. After your wildlife safari, ascend the crater and begin the drive back to Arusha. Depending on your travel plans, you will be transferred to Arusha town or directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzania camping safari with Luxus in Africa.

I travelled with my family and honestly, it was a disastrous trip, very badly organized from start to finish. Denice was in charge of everything but the situation was too much for his handle. They ended up charging me more than what was initially agreed, and problems kept coming up one after another. It was clear they have very little experience. Organizing safaris is not something you can improvise. This seems to be a very young company that has probably just rented a jeep and little more, but without the necessary experience to handle such trips. The whole operation felt too big for them to manage properly. I would not recommend this company at all. And this is coming from someone who has traveled to Africa many times.

was absolutely amazing! Our team was knowledgeable and took such good care of us. Our safety was of the utmost importance. Our team unfortunately had a member who needed to be evacuated, but the Luxus in Africa team was able to make the right call to save our team members life. They handled that situation with such care and were able to get her to safety. Every step of the way, they made sure we did everything we needed to do make it to the top. I can’t thank them enough for their care for our team and giving us an incredible experience!

We cannot say enough good things about how AMAZING our experience in Africa was & it wouldn’t have been possible without the Luxus in Africa! From their travel agents to safari guides to lodging staff we were delightfully overwhelmed with how amazing this team was. Our travel agent helped curate both our safari itinerary and beach itinerary exactly to what my husband and I wanted for our honeymoon. They informed us about what to pack, what to wear, cultural aspects to be mindful of, specific rules of the country, arranged all our travel transfers (safari guides, airport pickups, extra excursion travel, etc.) and made the entire trip so easy. From the moment we stepped off the plane to the moment we got dropped back off, the Luxus had us covered. Our safari guide, Jose, became a friend not just a tour guide. He was so informative about the general culture, the animals, the parks, the best places to spot animals and got us positioned perfectly anytime we spotted anything. He was very easy to communicate with, every morning he picked us up he & the truck were cleaned up and ready for action, we loved how excited he was for the adventure he took us on everyday. We hope when we come back in a few years that we can have him guide us again! You absolutely have to book the hot air balloon ride of the Serengeti, it was truly surreal and a magical way to get a totally different view of the safari. Worth every single extra penny! The hotel packed us lunches for our safaris everyday which were great! Loads of food and tons of options, each lodge’s staff were so friendly & ready to help with whatever we needed. Each lodge also did an amazing job at really celebrating our honeymoon & making it feel special with beautiful decorations in our room each day when we returned, it was so sweet! In zanzibar our room was setup with champagne & fruit plate which was so special. We really want to thank the whole team for every part of our once in a lifetime adventure and a beautiful honeymoon! ❤️4

Before traveling, I was very undecided whether to stay only in Zanzibar or include a safari in my trip. I also wasn’t sure which option to choose—lodge or tent, 3 days or 4 days. In the end, I chose a 2-night, 3-day safari with mid-range lodge accommodation, plus 2 extra nights in a hotel in Arusha (before and after the safari), and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I made. The journey started with a comfortable hotel stay in Arusha, followed by an early morning departure towards Serengeti National Park. The drive is long, but absolutely worth it. After a full day of game drives, we arrived at the lodge in the evening, surrounded by incredible nature. The next day began at sunrise with breakfast before heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where wildlife and Maasai culture coexist. After another full day of game drives, we stayed overnight in a nearby lodge. On the final day, we explored the Ngorongoro Crater, a breathtaking place full of wildlife, before returning to Arusha in the afternoon. Our guide Jesse was excellent—very experienced, knowledgeable, and always making sure we felt safe and comfortable. He was also patient and flexible, especially when we wanted more time to observe or photograph animals. I asked many questions, including about the Maasai culture, and learned a lot about their lifestyle and traditions. The lodges were very comfortable, especially the one inside the Serengeti, which felt truly magical. Waking up surrounded by nature, even seeing giraffes nearby, was an unforgettable experience. The meals were served in nice dining areas, and having a private bathroom after long days of game drives made a big difference. We saw an incredible variety of wildlife, including a dramatic scene where lionesses, hyenas, and other animals competed over a zebra carcass—something I will never forget. This safari was the perfect mix of adventure, comfort, and cultural discovery. My eyes and heart were filled with the beauty of Tanzania’s landscapes and wildlife. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Africa. Thank you, Luxus in Africa, for an unforgettable Tanzania safari experience. This journey was truly a once-in-a-lifetime memory that I will treasure forever.

Waterfall at the end of February first, as often heavy rain at noon. Coffee tour directly on the way to the waterfall. After that, sales attempts of coffee and art. Negotiate. Eat OK. Hot springs are not hot, are fed underground and not by Kilimanjaro. Still very pleasant. Diving goggles are offered for an excessive fee. Very nice area. Everything from 08:00-17:00. You tip the driver and possibly the guide on site ( 5-10 USD)

My group did the 7 day climb, 2 day safari and waterfall, coffee and hot springs tour. Guides we had were so knowledgeable and created a fun experience. Being in a group of 4 or more definitely better value.
