Going on the 5 Day Mount Kenya Trek with TripTick Travels was one of those trips that changes how you think about adventure. The trek was challenging, but it was well planned and manageable because the TripTick Travels team kept the pace consistent and guided us carefully through the trail. The Chogoria route gave us an incredible progression of landscapes. Early on, the environment felt lush and inviting, and the trail had that “wondering what’s around the next bend” feeling. As we continued, the climb became more demanding and the air got thinner, but our guide team helped us stay focused and comfortable. They were attentive to how everyone was feeling and offered encouragement when needed, which made the tougher sections feel less intimidating. Each day felt purposeful. there were good breaks, the walking felt steady, and we always had a clear sense of what the plan was for the day. The summit day toward Point Lenana was intense but unbelievably satisfying. When I finally reached the top, I felt proud in a way that only a real trek can bring. TripTick Travels truly provided an excellent experience.

I expected good scenery, but I didn’t realize how consistently beautiful the entire route would be. The Chogoria trail offered so much variety: lush forest-like sections early on, then more scenic valleys, then the landscape opening up into rocky, high-altitude terrain. What impressed me most was the way the TripTick Travels team managed everything. The guidance felt professional and thoughtful. our guide ensured we knew what to expect each day, checked our pace, and gave advice on how to handle the steeper climbs. I also appreciated how they stayed attentive throughout, making sure we weren’t pushing too hard and were adjusting properly to the altitude. We also had great trekking momentum. each day felt structured, with enough time to appreciate the views, take photos, and rest without losing progress. The approach to Point Lenana was challenging in the best way, and our guide support made all the difference. Reaching the top was a highlight I’ll never forget. I highly recommend TripTick Travels for this itinerary.

From the moment we started, the TripTick Travels team made everything feel smooth and well planned, clear guidance, supportive check-ins, and realistic pacing so we could enjoy the route without rushing. The Chogoria route is special because the scenery changes dramatically as you gain altitude. We trekked through areas with thick, green vegetation and then gradually moved into more rugged, open landscapes. Each day felt like a new “chapter,” with unforgettable viewpoints and moments where the mountains looked completely different from just a short distance earlier. Our guide team was knowledgeable about the trail and altitude, and they consistently encouraged us to take it step by step, drink water, and keep moving at a comfortable rhythm. By the time we reached the final push toward Point Lenana, I felt prepared rather than overwhelmed. When we finally stood at the summit, it was an incredible mix of pride, relief, and awe. TripTick Travels delivered a high-quality trekking experience—safe, organized, and truly memorable.

What really stood out for us was the scenery. Every day felt completely different. One moment we were walking through lush forest, the next we were in wide open valleys with insane views of cliffs and waterfalls. The stretch through Gorges Valley and around the lakes was easily our favorite quiet, dramatic, and just unbelievably beautiful. It never felt crowded, which made it feel more personal and special for us as a couple. The pace of the trek was also well thought out. It wasn’t easy definitely challenging at times but the gradual ascent helped us adjust to the altitude. By the time summit day came, we felt prepared and very nervous Summit morning was tough. Waking up in the cold, hiking in the dark, pushing through the altitude, it tested us. But reaching Point Lenana at sunrise together made it all worth it. Watching the sun come up above the clouds is something we’ll never forget. That moment alone made the entire trek special. The guides and crew played a big role in our experience. They were supportive, encouraging, and always checking in on how we were doing. Meals were surprisingly good considering we were on a mountain, and the team kept things running smoothly the whole time. as a couple, this trek felt like more than just a hike, it was a shared challenge, something that pushed us and brought us closer. If you’re looking for a scenic, less crowded alternative to Kilimanjaro, this is a great choice. We’d absolutely recommend Triptick Travels for this trek. It’s not the easiest trip, but it’s 100% worth it.
