Shai Hills Resource Reserve
It was made a Game Production Reserve in 1971.. Popular activities include game viewing, bird watching, nature walking, and rock climbing there are nearly dozens of primary animal species, including antelopes, bats, birds (such as violet Turaco, Paradise Flycatcher, Green Turaco, Red-billed Hornbill, Yellow-fronted Tinkerbird, and Red-necked Buzzard), baboons, cats, duiker, guinea fowls, kobs, green monkeys, monitor lizards, African python, royal python, and zebras.

Absolute Disappointment – Completely Unreliable and Poorly Organized

1.00We booked a boat trip by phone, which was clearly confirmed again via WhatsApp. Based on this confirmation, we adjusted our travel plans and even booked an extra stay in Akosombo solely for this boat tour. On the scheduled Saturday, we went to the dock as agreed. There, we were bluntly told that there would be no boat trip that day and that we must have misunderstood something. Only after we showed the clear proof — the WhatsApp confirmation — did they start to take us seriously. The only explanation given was that they had simply forgotten to inform us. There was no real apology and no customer-oriented solution. Instead, we were offered an “alternative”: replacing the originally booked 5-hour tour for 500 Cedi (including services) with a 1-hour boat ride without any included services for 600 Cedi. An absolute disgrace. A complete disaster. Extremely unreliable, poorly organized, and not customer-focused at all. For us, this was a total waste of time and money that no one will compensate. Definitely not recommended.

5.00Great music, amazing view❤️, and nice food. Great service by attendants and live band. As part of process, all passengers went though security checks 👍Residents on the island greeted us with Ewe songs 🎶Activities included hiking, camel and horse rides, volley ball, and pedal boat rides. It was a nice experience!

5.00I love visiting Ghana, and Kwame Tours provides me with many convenient ways to explore the country. I had a wonderful experience on this tour and truly enjoyed driving through the Shai Hills, where the scenery and landscape are breathtaking. From start to finish, everything went smoothly, and I felt very comfortable and well taken care of throughout the journey. We listened to great music, rode on the smaller boat and the big one, Dodi. played board games, some friends swam in the lake, and had a lot of fun dancing on board the Dodi. We made numerous connections and met many people along the way. Kwame was incredibly patient, intentional, and relatable, which made the entire experience even more meaningful. Thank you, Ghana, and thank you to Kwame Tours!
