  • Best tour we’ve experienced

We just finished our 6-day Ring Road tour with Runar, and wow, it was hands down the best travel experience we’ve ever had! Runar was an incredible guide, a skilled driver, a true local with deep knowledge, a great sense of humor, and so much passion for sharing Iceland’s beauty and stories. Every day was perfectly planned, full of breathtaking sights, fun surprises, and great energy. We don’t usually join group tours, but our small group of 13 turned out to be amazing. The accommodation choices were also fantastic, super comfortable, beautifully set, and even stocked with lovely touches like L’Occitane toiletries! And to top it all off, we were lucky enough to see the northern lights multiple times, even one morning just before the sun was rising, what an unforgettable treat! This trip far exceeded all our expectations and we can’t recommend Runar and this tour enough!

Had a thoroughly enjoyable 6 day trip around Iceland. We saw so much including the popular Golden Circle but also had a chance to explore the less visited, quieter other side of the country. Our tour guide Thor was excellent, sharing his passion for his country, adding personal knowledge and interest to the tour and then continuing to be available in the evenings to share a meal and provide updates on Aurora sightings. The accommodation was all of good quality, the breakfasts were excellent and the bus new and clean.

We saw so many amazing sights, from waterfalls and canyons, to puffins, icebergs, horses, thermal areas with bubbling mud and the geyser. Our guide and driver Thor was excellent. He was very accommodating and helpful, and always cheerful. He shared a lot of knowledge with us. The bus for the 6 days was very good, quite new and Thor kept it very clean. (I would note I booked the 8 day tour and that involved Bus Tours Iceland tacking on 2 day trips before the 6 day tour. I do not recommend doing this. In my opinion (and now experience) you are better off booking day trips separately. I have reviewed those days separately).

We did a 6 day tour with H.B.O. around the entire island. The trip was absolutely amazing and the sights were breathtaking. H.B.O was a fantastic guide with so much knowledge about the history and culture of the island. He was a great, safe driver and gave us adequate time at each stop. He made sure we had options for lunch and dinner and stopped for toilet and snack breaks. Thank you H.B.O for an amazing trip that we will cherish forever!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this 6-day tour around Iceland. Our guide, Vala, is very knowledgeable about all things Iceland - she shared wonderful stories, captivating folklore, some interesting and personal to her. Vala’s passion for Iceland really shines through her lively mannerisms and enthusiasm to share. We learnt a lot about Iceland, its culture and history through her. Vala’s knowledge especially showed in northern Iceland, where she had to adjust our itinerary due to unforeseen road closures and still made the tour fun for us, while maximising the precious daylight available to us. Thanks Vala for guiding our tour.
