Sinaia began developing into an important settlement with the construction of the famous Sinaia Monastery in 1695. Peles Palace is one of the best-preserved royal palaces in Eastern Europe. The Castle is full of ornaments the inside as well as on the outside, and features elaborate wood sculptures and paintings representing scenes from the works of German composer Richard Wagner.
Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)
Once we arrive in Bran Village, we visit Dracula’s Castle, whose striking hilltop appearance inspired many myths and legends.
3* of 4* boutique hotel or guesthouse in Gura Humorului
Brasov Historical Center
Brasov city is located in the central part of Romania. It is surrounded by the Southern Carpathians, and is part of the Transylvania Region. Brasov is a good starting point for trips around Romania. It is also the largest city in a mountain resorts area. The old city itself is very well preserved, and is best seen by taking the cable-car to the top of Tâmpa Mountain (995 m), a beautiful lookout.
Agapia Monastery
Before reaching Gura-Humorului, we will have a few interesting stops. Agapia Monastery is one of them. This is one of the largest nunnery in Romania. More than 300 nuns are working together in different workshops of the monastery. You can visit the workshops where the nuns are making different stuff such us: painted icons, or handmade carpets.
Overnight in Gura Humorului 3* or 4* boutique hotel or guesthouse.
Manastirea Voronet
First visit of the day is at the famous painted monastery of Voronet. Erected in 1488, Voronet Monastery is a combination of Byzantine, Gothic and local elements. On the western wall, the exterior murals depict traditional scenes, and the famous Last Judgment scene, unique in the whole world.
Moldovita Monastery
riving on one of the most beautiful roads in the country, crossing the gentle slopes of Bucovina Mountains, admiring the amazing panoramas from the Ciumarna Pass, you’ll reach Moldovita Monastery. Built in 1532, this monastery occupies a fortified quadrangular enclosure with tower, gates and well-tended lawns. The central painted church has been partly restored and features impressive frescoes from 1537. The southern exterior wall depicts the Siege of Constantinople in AD 626, under a combined Persian-Avar attack. Interestingly, the besiegers are depicted in Turkish dress – keeping parishioners concentrated on the current enemy.
Sucevita Monastery
We visit Sucevita Monastery, where we will find out more about the “Virtue Staircase”, most impressive due to its dimension and contrast between the angel’s order and devil’s chaos.
Overnight in Sighisoara 3* hotel centrally located.
Red Lake
rossing the Eastern Carpathian Mountains through Bicaz Gorge you will discover a mysterious realm, the same one described in Bram Stoker`s Dracula. Once reaching the Red Lake you are in Transylvania passing through an area inhabited mostly by the Hungarian Szekler community.
Centrul Istoric Sighisoara
We reach Sighisoara Medieval Town in the evening. Sighisoara Citadel is a World Heritage Site and the only still inhabited medieval fortress in Europe.
Overnight in Sibiu 3* hotel centrally located

n the morning you will explore the Old Town of Sighisoara with cobbled streets, burgher houses and ornate churches. You will visit the Clock Tower, Church on the Hill and Dracula`s house where Vlad Tepes was born in 1431.
Biertan Fortified Church
UNESCO site and one of the first German settlements in Transylvania. This fortified church, surrounded by three rows of fortifications, was built by the German peasants in Transylvania and was used for nearly 300 years as the residence of the Transylvanian Archbishop. A room in the citadel was used for a long time as a reconciliation place for couples about to divorce (hear the full story on spot). The name “Biertan” was first attested in 1283. It had a township status.
Sibiu Tourist Information Center
Sibiu: the chief city of the Transylvanian Saxons. Take a leisurely walking tour of Sibiu, visit the old surrounding defense walls and the remaining towers each belonging to a certain guild.
Sibiu Tourist Information Center
One of the landmarks of Sibiu is the Brukenthal Museum assembled by baron Brukenthal, governor of Transylvania at the end of the 18th century. The Evangelical Cathedral was completed in its actual shape in 1520, but inside there is an exquisite fresco of the Crucifixion on the north wall of the choir dating from 1445. View the Passage of Stairs linking the Upper town to the Lower town, the 1859 Liar`s Bridge and the Byzantine style Orthodox Cathedral, a replica of St. Sophia in Constantinople.
Curtea de Arges Monastery

I had a great time on a private tour during November, which was booked at extremely short notice. Ion did an amazing job putting together the tour within 24 hours, and we started the trip only a couple of days after enquiring which was amazing! His communication was really fast, clear and helpful, and our driver/guide Florin was great - both ensured we had a wonderful time in Romania. The choice of accommodation was brilliant, varying from modern hotels to centuries-old period properties. I would thoroughly recommend contacting Romania Tour Store for anyone looking to travel in Romania with a friendly, reliable and trustworthy local company.

We are just back from an extended tour of Romania with Romania Tour Stores. It's a bespoke travel company which specialises in private tours for culture vultures. From Bucharest's Belle Epoq architecture we travelled to the cultural centre of Iasi, the painted monasteries of Moldavia, and through the fortified Saxon churches and towns of Transylvania. Finally, we arrived in the stunning city of Brasov in the Carpathians where the Austro-Hungarian influence sits on the edge of Wallachia and Byzantium. Grand hotels and traditional wooden cabins. Each day felt like being in a different age or country. A superbly organised tour of this fascinating country. We are planning a return visit next year.

The best way to see the country! The wife and I were very happy with our experience using Romania Tour Store and with our tour guide Angelica. We consider ourselves somewhat experienced travelers having been to over 20 countries. This was the first time in Romania, and the first time booking a private tour. It has completely changed how we will plan future travels based on that extraordinary experience. What a experience! This is an extremely flexible, especially stress free, and outstanding way to see Romania. The tour package was all inclusive from picking up at the airport, hotels, transportation etc. We booked at probably one of the most difficult seasons, being Christmas/New Years with many places closed down, and hotels at full capacity. Romania Tours and Angelica made magic happen to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. My advice, book with Romania tours, pick a private tour if you can and ask for Angelica. Angelica was a very personable tour guide, that devoted herself to making sure everything was the best it could be. She made great restaurant and food recommendations based on what we wanted to try. She was extremely knowledgeable, and not just about the tours being booked. She is well versed in current and historical aspects of Romania and all the things to do within the country. Also importantly she knew all the insider information to try to get us into places that may be closed at a certain time or day or finding other off the list activities should time allow. She even followed up after the tour ended to translate a souvenir inscription purchased at the end of the tour. We plan to book more private tours in the future based on how well this went and future tour operators will have high standards to live up to. We will be recommending to friends and family to take a tour of Romania and choose a private tour with Romania Tours.

We had an excellent, budget friendly trip with Romania Tourstore. Owner/guide, Ion Dima, arranged and took ownership for every detail including picking us up at airport and showing us around Bucharest by car & on foot. Our road trip took us @800 miles with our amazing guide and driver Alexandra D. Alex kept us safe, informed, entertained and she helped us fall in love with Romania. We will never forget our breathtaking drive with Alex on The Transfagarasan and seeing a beautiful Brown Bear in the wild! The hotels, food and our vehicle were beyond our expectations. We highly recommend Romania Tourstore and hope to return to see more of Romania & Eastern Europe and we will always call Ion first!

My wife and I spent about a week in Romania. Ion was our Guide. We have visited at least 50 countries and come across over a hundred guides. We simply cannot remember anyone as good or half as professional as Ion is. For a start, he is knowledgeable. Then, he is highly experienced and passionate. Thirdly, he is patient. Fourthly, he cares about his customers. Fifthly, he is trust-worthy and a person of integrity. He does not take cuts and commissions for taking you to any shops/workshops etc. like some guides do. Sixthly, he is a safe driver who eschews risk. He has a very clean, safe and well-maintained car (Skoda) and has thought of the small things too (like a bottle of water & an Umbrella) in the car. We had an amazing tour of Romania. Ion was also highly flexible & helped sort out some of our unusual requests. We will remember Ion most fondly and because of him, Romania - not the other way around! Did I tell you he is a terrific photographer, too? He has a great sense of humour and always good company. If you are considering touring Romania or combining Romania with Bulgaria, don't even bother getting a quote from anyone else. Ion is your man and he will give you what money cannot buy: GREAT memories.

There is a lot to see in Romania and trying to do it on our own was incredibly daunting. I scoured the internet for a company who could take care of all our transportation and lodging needs and this is how we met Ion Dima of Romania Tour Store. We knew what we wanted to see and do and luckily Ion had the exact tour for us at an incredible price. One of Ion's drivers, Bogdan Nedea, drove us from Bucharest up to Bucovina to the painted monasteries. The buildings, inside and out, are so well preserved. It's incredible. Our tour consisted of Bucharest, Gura Humorlui, Sighisoara, Sibiu and back to Bucharest. It was an awful lot of driving between cities (Romania is pretty spread out). Ion and Bogdan were incredibly professional. Bogdan has two Masters degrees and was extremely knowledgeable about many subjects. We got to know each other fairly well after being in a car together for 6 days. It was a wonderful experience and I am awfully glad I found Ion and his company for our tour. Romania is beautiful, the food and wine were delicious and very economical to visit this country.

Tour guide was/is knowledgeable and speaks very good English. Have viewed mud volcanoes and painted monasteries so far pictures to follow. One suggestion is to inform travelers about long distances travelled by/in car and provide more details about accommodations. We are pleased with hotels so far but still have more nights/sights to see. Radu has exceeded our expectations as a guide. Kudos for hiring him.
