I’m so happy I went with Burigi Chato Safaris for my Kilimanjaro climb. The Machame route is steep in spots, but the guides make sure you go pole pole. We had a blast on our 7 days itinerary, and the summit night was something I’ll never forget. This 7 days itinerary is definitely the way to go if you want to actually enjoy the journey and not just rush to the top.

What an amazing week on the mountain. The Machame route has so many different landscapes, from forests to deserts. Our group was small and we all got along so well during the 7 days itinerary. The lead guides for our Kilimanjaro climb were total pros and kept a close eye on everyone’s health. I honestly think the 7 days itinerary is the perfect length for this trip.

  • Choosing the 7-day Machame

Choosing the 7-day Machame over the 6-day version was the best decision I made for my climb. That extra day at Karanga Camp is a total game-changer; it breaks up the long trek from Barranco to Barafu, allowing your body to actually rest and find its rhythm before the grueling summit push. Following the "walk high, sleep low" philosophy—like the trek up to Lava Tower at 4,600m before descending—felt like magic for my acclimatization. Because we had that seventh day, the pace felt less like a race and more like an actual journey. We had more time to soak in the shifting landscapes, from the lush rainforests of the first day to the surreal, moon-like alpine deserts near the top. Scrambling up the Barranco Wall wasn't rushed, and having that extra afternoon of rest at high altitude meant I actually had an appetite and felt strong when my alarm went off at midnight for the final ascent. The Burigi Chato Safaris team managed the 7-day itinerary perfectly, ensuring our energy was peaked right when it mattered most. If you're on the fence, take the extra day—your legs (and your lungs) will thank you when you're standing at Uhuru Peak watching the sunrise.

I just got back from the 7-day Machame trek and it was the toughest but best thing I’ve ever done. If you’re thinking about it, go for the 7-day trip instead of the 6—having that extra day to get used to the thin air really helped our whole group make it to the top.The views are unreal. One day you’re in a rainforest and the next you’re walking through a desert. Scrambling up the Barranco Wall was a blast, and the sunrise at the summit is something I’ll never forget.Joining a group was a great call. We had people from all over, and by the time we hit the summit, we felt like a family. The crew was amazing too—the guides were super encouraging and the porters are absolute machines. The food was hot, filling, and way better than I expected for a mountain.I would líke to thàñks búrigi chàto safarís team fór making my trip well ànd achiviable

  • Solid 7-Day Machame Climb – Best Way to do Kili on a Budget..

I just finished the 7-day Machame route as a solo traveler, and I’m so glad I went with the budget group-joining option with Burigi Chato Safaris. If you’re traveling alone, this is definitely the way to go. I was worried about the cost of a private climb, but the budget group made it affordable without cutting corners on safety or food. I met 5 other hikers from different countries, and by day three, we were all great friends. The 7-day schedule is much better than the 6-day one because that extra time for acclimatization at Karanga Camp really helped me feel strong for the final climb. The 7-day flow was spot on. We did the "walk high, sleep low" trek to Lava Tower, and I could actually feel my body adjusting to the height. Our guides were total pros, checking our heart rates every night and keeping the pace slow enough for everyone in the group to keep up. For a budget trip, the gear was surprisingly good—the tents were sturdy and kept us dry when it rained on the first day. The porters are incredible; they’d pass us on the trail and have the whole camp ready by the time we arrived. Reaching Uhuru Peak was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but having the group there to cheer me on made a huge difference. The 7-day plan meant we weren't as exhausted as the groups doing it in 6, so I actually had enough energy to enjoy the sunrise at the summit. If you want to climb Kilimanjaro without spending a fortune, the budget group-joining with Burigi Chato is a no-brainer. They handle all the logistics perfectly, the food is hot and filling, and you get to share the experience with a great team.

  • Unforgettable 7-Day Kilimanjaro Climb via Machame Route with Burigi Chato Safaris

I did the 7 Days Kilimanjaro climb using the Machame Route with Burigi Chato Safaris and honestly it was an amazing experience I will never forget. I joined a group climb and from the beginning everything was well organized and easy, even though we came from different countries and backgrounds. Joining the group of 6 people was a really good decision. We bonded very quickly on the mountain and supported each other through the tough days. Sharing the experience made the climb more fun and motivating, especially on difficult sections and during summit night when everyone was tired but still pushing together. The Machame Route is very beautiful but also challenging. We passed through rain forest, moorland and rocky areas before reaching the summit. The 7 days really helped with acclimatization, even though some days were tough, the pace was good and manageable. The guides were very professional and friendly. They kept checking our health every day and encouraging us when the climb became hard, especially during summit night which was really exhausting. Their experience and motivation helped me a lot to keep going when I felt tired. The porters and cooking team were incredible. They worked very hard and were always smiling. I was surprised by the quality of food we got on the mountain, it was hot and enough even at high altitude. Safety was taken seriously, with daily health checks and slow walking pace. Reaching Uhuru Peak early in the morning was emotional and something I will always remember. I could not have done it without this team and the group support. I would recommend Burigi Chato Safaris to anyone planning to climb Kilimanjaro, especially if you want to join a group climb. It is a great way to meet people, share the journey and stay motivated. Thank you so much to the whole team. Asante sana Burigi Chato Safaris! 🏔️🇹🇿

Just got back from the Machame route and wow, what a trip. The 7 day itinerary was perfect because it didnt feel rushed at all. We started in the rainforest and by day 3 we were doing the "climb high sleep low" thing at Lava Tower which really helped my head adjust to the altitude. One of the best parts was the Barranco wall, looks crazy but it was actually a blast to climb. Im so glad we did the 7 day version instead of 6 because staying at Karanga camp gave us that extra rest before the big summit push. We got to the base camp feeling pretty good instead of totally wiped out.I have to give a more thanks to Burigi Chato Safaris for organizing everything so well. Since I joined a group I was a bit nervous about who I'd be hiking with, but the vibe was amazing from day one. The guides from Burigi Chato really know there stuff and kept us laughing even when we were struggling uphill. The food was way better than I expected for a mountain too—lots of hot soup and pasta to keep us going. Summit night was tough as hell but reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise made every bit of effort worth it. If your looking for a solid team to get you to the top, definitely go with Burigi Chato Safaris, they really took care of us.

I just finished the 7-day Machame Route with Burigi Chato Safaris and it was the experience of a lifetime. The 7-day schedule was perfect because it gave us plenty of time to adjust to the altitude. The route itself is beautiful. Walking through the rainforest on day one and then seeing the Shira Plateau was a highlight. Scrambling up the Barranco Wall was exciting and easier than it looks, and the views from the Karanga Valley were stunning. The extra day at Karanga made the midnight summit push from Barafu Camp feel much more doable. The Burigi Chato team was professional and worked incredibly hard. The guides kept us safe and motivated, the food was hot and fresh at every camp, and the porters had everything ready for us daily. If you want to reach Uhuru Peak with a great crew, I highly recommend this company.

I’m just back from 7 days on the Machame route and wow... my legs are still sore but my heart is so full!! If your looking to climb Kili, definitely go with Burigi Chato Safaris. I was a bit nervous about joining a group as a solo traveler but from the minute they picked me up from the airport I knew I was in good hands. The 7 day trip is way better than the 6 day one because that extra day to acclimatize is huge. Trust me, you’ll need it when your hiking in the dark on summit night. Speaking of summit night—it was the hardest thing ive ever done but our guides (shoutout to the team!) kept us going with songs and "pole pole" every step of the way. One thing—the Barranco wall looks scary but its actually super fun, just dont look down too much if your afraid of heights lol. There were a few tiny hiccups with the gear rental at the start but the Burigi team fixed it right away, they really care about there clients. If your on the fence, just book it with Burigi Chato Safaris. Its a tough trek but reaching Uhuru peak at sunrise is something I’ll never forget. Thanks again guys for getting me to the top!!

I just finished the 7-day Machame route with Burigi Chato Safaris and I am still buzzing from the experience. I was a bit nervous about booking an affordable group joining tour, but this team turned out to be world-class. From the start in Moshi, everything was well-organized Our guide were the real deal—they checked our oxygen levels every night and kept us moving at a steady "Pole Pole" pace that made all the difference for our group's success. The gear provided was solid, and I was honestly surprised by how much effort the crew put into the camps; arriving to see our tents already set up after a long day of hiking was such a relief. A highlight for me was Barranco wall scramble and the hot soup at karanga. The food was much better than I expected for a mountain trek, with plenty of carbs to keep us going. Summit night was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but the guides were so encouraging and literally cheered us on until we reached Uhuru Peak at sunrise. If you want to climb Kili without spending a fortune but still want to feel safe and supported, I’d recommend Burigi Chato.
