Damajagua Waterfalls
We offer a time of hiking through thick forests, crossing bridges and discovering the Dominican flora, before reaching the rocky top of a hill from where you will begin your journey down, jumping or sliding down a series of waterfalls. Safety gear is a must as you slide down padded water slides, or jump into deep turquoise pools. The way from the tour station to the waterfalls is 40 minutes, we offer a tour of the 7 main puddles so that they have an unforgettable and not so exhausting experience, children must be 8 years old or older to be able to do those 7 puddles of otherwise they could only walk the 40 minutes and stay in the first.

They communicated well through the Viator app and picked us up after we got off of our cruise ship. The Van had AC and the driver, Jamell, was exceptional. We LOVED him. The hike to the water falls and slides and jump was lush and green...like 35 minutes. The water was fresh and cool. It was a crowded day, but we loved it. The stop for lunch after was quaint...Yolanda provided excellent service during the meal. They dropped us off at the port. I am so glad that I took my wife and three older children on this. It was worth it!

This is a high adventure experience. We weren’t quite mentally prepared for the adrenaline. We slid down waterfalls into head deep water, and jumped off an 18 foot drop. It was a bit scary but very thrilling ,and satisfying to say we did it!

Hike was around 2.6 miles total. First half was uphill but not too strenuous, easy pace with a few 5 minute breaks. Some muddy spots along path. Water was cool at first but you get used to it quickly, felt good after being sweaty from the hike with life vest on. Don't take sunglasses, 95% of the time you are in the shade/woods. Lunch stop after was good not great, buffet of rice/beans, spaghetti, some type of thin grilled ham/ pork. We were able to leave a backpack on the van and did not need to rent a locker. There were 5 cruise ships in Port on the day we did our hike so the trail was pretty busy. We spent quite a bit of time in a long line of other people on the waterfall hike, waiting for them to go down the slides or the jumps which added an extra hour to the hike. Tour guides were very nice and overall it was a good experience.

If you are on a cruise then book through the cruise. They prioritize those guests first. We paid for the 7 waterfalls but only got to see one. The reason was they had too many people that day and it would take too long to see all 7. But the cruise excursion went ahead of us and got to experience all 7. Spend the extra money. The one waterfall was fun but that is NOT what I paid for. My driver was absolutely wonderful, Jasper. And the food was delicious too. I just wish I would have seen more than one waterfall. Even 3 or 4. But one didn’t live up to my expectations. The only reason I give a two star instead of one was because of food and driver.

This was an amazing experience. Very fun! The employees were very helpful. Do not skip out on the picture package. It made the experience even more unforgettable.

It’s about a 20 min walk each way through a rain forest on a well maintained path. The waterfalls and slides are all from nature and so much fun to experience!

From start to finish, our Damajagua Falls excursion was seamless and incredibly well-run. Our driver and guides were friendly, professional, and made everything feel easy and organized. We were pleasantly surprised by how rugged and adventurous this experience was. The hike was more intense than expected, but absolutely beautiful—winding through lush, tropical landscape. The waterfalls and natural slides were amazing, but definitely not “mellow”—many are fast with drop-offs into deeper water. There are also points where you can jump off rocks into the lagoons below or take a ladder down instead. If you’re afraid of heights or not comfortable fully submerging in water, this may not be the best fit—but if you enjoy adventure, it’s an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend it. A tip: wear good water shoes that you can both hike in and fully submerge. You won’t really have the option to switch footwear unless you’re carrying a fully waterproof bag. Also, a special shout-out to the lunch included at the end—it was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to wrap up the day. This was hands-down our favorite part of the trip. As a first-time Viator user, I was really impressed and will definitely be booking through them again in the future.

Tour description states 3.5-4 hour duration and 50 participants maximum. The tour took 5 hours and there was well over 100 participants in our group at the falls with 3 guides. With the group being so large, the hike took much longer than needed. The slides/jumps down were rushed. With the group being so large you were waiting 20 minutes in between slides/jumps (in cold water). At one points we were bottle necked up in a gully with no where to go and someone who couldn’t swim well kept pulling me under the water. Equipment provided was old and unsafe. My daughter’s life jacket was too large that she could have easily slipped out and they wouldn’t provide us a smaller one. Lunch wasn’t all that great either. Would not recommend this tour.

Be prepared for a lot of climbing, the overall activity it pretty physical. There's a big climb up a hill along a series of slopes and stairs, followed by a decent along very steep stairs and a ladder to get to the water. Definitely got my step count in for the day. The waterfalls range from slides to a big jump through some beautiful deep ravines that the river runs through. Plan for about 6 hours from the time you get picked up until you get dropped off back at the port. It's also about a 15 minute walk from the shops to the taxi meeting spot.
