This 8-day Galapagos expedition is a carefully paced, island-hopping journey designed to show you the archipelago’s most iconic landscapes while staying on its three main inhabited islands: Santa Cruz, Isabela, and San Cristóbal. The route balances land and sea experiences, giving you time to explore, rest, and truly connect with each island rather than rushing through them.
You’ll walk among giant tortoises in the highlands, hike the vast caldera of Sierra Negra volcano, snorkel the lava tunnels and turquoise waters of Los Túneles, and finish with an unforgettable marine experience at Kicker Rock, one of the Galapagos’ top snorkeling and diving sites. Traveling by inter-island speedboats and staying in locally owned hotels, this small-group adventure is led by expert naturalist guides and supports local communities—offering a meaningful, immersive way to experience the Galapagos beyond the highlights.

Everything went very well. I felt like I saw all the animals i wanted to see. The snorkeling was the best as I love underwater sea life. All the connections and transfers went very smoothly. Takiri attended to everything. I'll recommend Takiri tours to others.

We had a fantastic time in the Galapagos thanks to Takiri Travel! Prior to committing, Alex spent a lot of time talking to us on zoom call and answering any questions we had beforehand. His kind and calm nature (and great reviews) helped me decide that this was the company that we wanted to use. To start our adventure, we arrived in Baltra around lunchtime and needed to get to Isabella on afternoon ferry. It was so nice to have someone meet us at the airport and quickly rush us through airport traffic so that we could grab a bite to eat before getting on the ferry. Once we arrived in Isabella, Takiri arranged for us to have a beach front experience and it was the perfect location with our own private beach. The hotel staff was really friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed having morning pick-ups so that we could sleep longer and enjoy breakfast without having to worry about where to meet for our daily excursions. We always had a few hours at the end of our day to relax and enjoy time reading/hanging out before dinner. We loved that the trip was planned based on what we wanted to do rather than a prearranged schedule. We had a point person, Kevin, that lived on Isabella and he was an unexpected added bonus. If we had last minute questions, he was there to give us guidance and promptly answer any questions we had about the excursions. Once we returned to Santa Cruz, we moved from a beach setting to a hotel with a nice pool. The hotel staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Also, the hotel was walking distance from Tortuga Bay so we were able to walk to a beautiful beach for snorkeling. The excursions were exactly what we wanted to see! Our favorite excursions were Los Tuneles in Isabella and Seymour North in Santa Cruz. Both tours provided a good balance of land and sea animal life with a nice, pleasant boat ride. The Los Tuneles tour guide was especially great as he downloaded all his underwater GoPro pics to our phones. We also really appreciated the highlands tour in which we got to see the giant tortoises in their natural habitat. My daughter and I loved the week in Galapagos and would highly recommend Takiri Travel to help you plan your itinerary. It was such a lovely week and nice to arrive without having to plan anything.

We booked an 8-day land-based Galapagos tour with Takiri Travel and are grateful for their amazing services planning all the logistics of our trip. From the very moment we landed on the island, we were greeted with many kind local guides & drivers who took great care of us and shared with us many important facts about the history of the island. Takiri works with some individual freelance guides to bring you on spots on the islands, books you with local tour operators on daily excursions (e.g. kayaking, snorkeling, volcano trekking), and local drivers/ferries to transport you from island to island. We saw tons of wildlife and snorkeled 5 times out of the 8 days despite only having 2 official snorkeling excursion days because Takiri rented snorkeling gear for us to go snorkeling on our own. The itinerary also has a decent amount of down time for you to relax, explore the local town and beaches yourselves. We were extremely satisfied with all the tours and hotels booked for us. If you are looking for a budget-friendly land-based tour operator who will take care of all your transportation & planning needs, and for the opportunity to meet with many of the locals on the island, we highly recommend Takiri! Tip: If you are particular about seeing a specific location, or having more of a specific type of activity (e.g. snorkeling), or having your itinerary more 'packed', I encourage you to let them know beforehand so Takiri can tailor the trip according to your preferences.

We did a solo travel trip with another couple through Takiri travel. I highly recommend them, they gave us 5 star service. It was like having your own personal concierge. We lost a passport during our travels and they helped us find it and return it back to us from another island. Alex was helpful with personalizing a trip for us from start to finish including booking all the excursions, he gave us recommendations on hotels and restaurants. You will be in good hands with Takiri travel!

The trip was fabulous. We went to San Cristobal for two days, Santa Cruz for one, and Isabela for four. I only wish we had had a little more time in Santa Cruz. All the islands were great and my favorite activity was snorkeling with sea turtles in the tunnels (Los Tuneles). That is a definite must! We were super active doing hikes, walks, mountain bike riding, kayaking, snorkeling. It is not for the faint of heart, but due to that high activity level, we feel we were able to see so much in a short amount of time. Alex /Takiri was terrific to work with, and all the guides were great / highly knowledgeable and friendly throughout. The 16k hike in full sun was a Bit much (we are in our mid to late 50s), and the speedboats could be nauseating, but really that's all I would change :)

Alex personalized a hybrid trip for us, combining Galapagos with a 4 day trip to Cuyabeno and adding some trips around Quito. We absolutely loved the trip and Takiri was very reliable about always meeting us where and when they said they would. There were some bumps in the road, none Takiri's fault, and they always did their very best to work things out for us. Communication was easy. We'd absolutely use them again. One recommendation: the transfers were the biggest issues for us, and it's worth paying for whatever upgrades are available for ferries in the Galapagos and for transport by private car to the Amazon. Loved it, loved it, loved it! ("Who was with you" question didn't have drop down for just family -- we had no teens.)

It was a family trip for us and it was a very memorable experience. Takiri agent, Alex was accomodating and responsive. Going with a tour and having good guides are very important to enjoy a trip like this because tons of logistics were involved at evety step. We couldn't have done as much activities without the help of guides. We would have wasted a lot of time and be stressed. Almost all the guides were helpful, knowledgeable and set our expectations well in terms of itinerary because things run differently on the island. Kicker Rock on San Cristobal was the highlight of the trip. Even though my daughter wasn't a strong swimmer, she wore a life jacket and hang out with the guide who was patient and took care of her, she had a memorable trip and saw many turtles and marine life. We had many wonderful experiences. We would highly recommend Takiri to others that are interested in going to Galapagos.

Alex and the tour company are awesome. I travel significantly so I know a good tour agency. They are available at any time day or night. No question too small. Isabella was my favorite island and I was so glad that was the majority of the trip. You will not be with the same group for day to day activities so if that is important to you I suggest you speak to Takiri about this. For me it was no problem. All of the different guides tours and accomodations went smoothly.

Takiri was wonderful to work with- so responsive. We loved the excursions and our guides. It is helpful to know that there are several guides for the different activities, so bring your tip money to each activity. The Kicker Rock day was AMAZING and we will remember it forever. This trip was so memorable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Probably one of the best travel agencies we have worked with. Everything was organized and perfectly arranged from beginning to end, even in the middle of a pandemic. Michael was very easy to work with, responsive, and attentive. The trip was perfect in every detail, hotels and guides were much better than expected, and we found they are very honest in their suggestions. Our original inquiry was with flights between islands but they recommended against them for safety reasons, even when it meant less money for them. Once on our trip, we met other people who took it and seems like we dodged a big issue there. My suggestion: Make Takiri your all-in-one shop for your travel needs, and make sure you don´t take inter-island flights.Thank you for one of the best trips we could ask for.
