They are found in 21 countries throughout Africa, but most easily sighted in Uganda due to their dense populations. Today, in Uganda, there are approximately 5,000 chimpanzees left in the wild. The chimpanzee Trekking experience here is done on several well maintained walking trails. There is also a wonderfully diverse concentration of other primates, more than any other forest in East Africa, in fact, besides our colorful cousins, the chimpanzees, you can find red colobus, red-tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, gray-checked mangabey, blue monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, and the black and white colobus monkey. On this morning, you start your Journey to Bwindi National park en-route to the Ishasha Sector. You will drive to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Ishasha sector). This part is famous for its’ tree-climbing lions. While lion cubs around the world frequently climb trees for fun, adults rarely do. However, these lionesses enjoy spending their time snoozing in fig trees to get away from the tsetse flies and to enjoy a cool breeze. This is the most memorable sight in the park as you have never seen such photogenic lions posing for your camera before. Meanwhile don't miss the stunning scenery and superb bird life in this southern remote section of the park either.

Encountering the rare and endangered Mountain Gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is an experience of a lifetime. Half of the world’s population of gorillas live under the mist-covered canopies of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforest. In the company of an experienced park ranger you will be tracking the whereabouts of one of the nine habituated family groups who live in the park. Depending on the location of the gorillas on any given day the walk can take anything from 2 to 7 hours. Once the family of gorillas has been located, settle in to your surroundings and enjoy the hour you have to quietly observe these fascinating primates whose habits and mannerisms remind us so much of our own. After Gorilla Trekking you will transfer directly to Lake Mburo National Park.

We saw so many amazing wild animals, huge thanks to our guide Winter, who really went the extra mile during the game drives to make it all happen. The company was super flexible and helped us tweak the itinerary to match what we were into. Honestly, we don’t have enough words to thank Ngoni Safaris and Winter for all the unforgettable memories.

I’m gonna try to make this short and sweet. Ngoni is a legit company and more affordable than other tour operators I’ve contacted. All the accomodations we have stayed at were superb! They were on great locations and offered amazing amenities. Sedrick planned what I wanted for our 10th wedding anniversary trip to a T! The only thing I can suggest is for Sedrick to communicate a little better. He gets the job done and I know he does everything but an update to the customers about what to expect or when to expect it would put their minds at ease. I’ll give a shout out to our tour guide Steven and I hope he reads this! He was friendly to all, efficient, funny, wise and knowledgeable.. This man can drive- whether it’s on smooth roads or rough roads! Very professional and skillful. ! He tried to keep the car clean and he dressed professional the entire time we were with him. You can tell he loves his job. We faced a little issue with our vehicle and he got it figured out and got us from point A to point B on a timely manner. We didn’t really see a lion when we were at Murchison Falls NP but he took us back at dusk and waited for a couple hours and saw 3! We are so grateful that he was with us. We felt safe the entire time. My favorite part of the trip aside from the sightings and the gorillas/chimps is driving past the local villages. Seeing how people live, what the markets/houses look like, what people wear on a daily basis, the kids’ smiles, the hustle and bustle of this side of the world. It gave me a new perspective on life. Uganda has now a special place in our hearts and I hope to return again one day! 🫶🏼

My wife and I wanted to do something special to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We were excited about the Mountain Gorilla trekking safari. After some research we decided to contact Ngoni Safaris. It was the best decision and the most memorable journey ever. Sedrick from Ngoni help us with planning the trip. He was very helpful and forthcoming. he promptly answer all our queries and provided useful advice. Our guide Steven was awesome! He told us so many things about Uganda, its geography, its people, its culture and the local food. It would take several pages to describe the fascinating encounters with wildlife and the mingling with the locals during these 8 days. The Mountain Gorilla encounter is a once in a life experience. All lodges were located in beautiful locations and were very comfortable. We strongly recommend that you consider Ngoni Safaris for your trip to Uganda. You won't regret it.

Our trip was simply spectacular! And for the most part, that’s thanks to our guide, Eddy! First of all, everything was perfectly organized and precisely planned. Very disciplined. Each day we were well prepared for what was ahead. Every activity we had was carefully thought out and turned out to be the best choice among the available options. Eddy gave us great tips during our boat trips and led us on the best safari experience. He always tried to get us as close to the animals as possible, knew where to find them, and could identify various species of birds and animals. He clearly knew how to navigate and find the best spots. He always aimed to make our experience enjoyable and was genuinely concerned about our comfort. He would clean the car after every day, we always had fresh drinking water, and if we liked something along the way, Eddie made sure to arrange it. He knew the best local contacts, the best activities, and thanks to him, we got the fastest, most efficient experience everywhere we went. Every single day left us with unforgettable impressions. He recommended the best lodges that perfectly suited our requests. He was incredibly organized, knowledgeable, and spoke multiple languages. We are absolutely thrilled with the tour he gave us. Not a single day or activity felt wasted or disappointing. It was pure joy. Thank you so much, Eddy! We highly recommend Uganda and this specific tour. Every single activity is worth trying — from gorillas and chimpanzees to all the different kinds of safaris. Just amazing!

Ngoni delivered the most incredible experience I have had whilst travelling solo. Reagan, who looked after me as we travelled, was absolutely amazing! Without needing to discuss the actual experiences that comprise the 8 day package, as this is all clearly detailed within the Company website, I would advise anyone considering visiting Uganda for a touristic experience of a lifetime to book with Ngoni and allow them to make it happen.

Just got home from the 8 day trip with gorillas, chimps and game/boat drives with two friends. Our guide was Reagan, who made the experience more like visiting a friend in Uganda. We chatted on the road like four friends on a road trip. Reagan regularly shared facts about animals with us and answered all of our crazy questions about Uganda and the animals. Reagan was amazing with communication (he speaks like 7 languages!) to restaurants, lodges and us. He was even able to help with a few picky eaters on the trip. The flow of the trip was perfect and I think it made us all sad when it came to an end. The drives, boat rides, trekking were all spaced perfectly. The trekking exceeded expectations and got us closer to all of the animals than we expected. We had booked midrange accommodations that usually felt higher than midrange. I researched companies for months before putting down our deposit and I couldn't be happier with our choice. I will say a few ppl have mentioned Sedrick can be slow with communication sometimes, but I found out sometimes he serves as a guide too. Emails sometimes took a day or two, but all of my WhatsApp inquiries were answered almost immediately. We also had an eight hour time difference that may have made communication a challenge. Once we had our guide's contact, communication was seamless. Usually, I am a do it yourself person (I love Kruger). I've only ever done one "organized" tour on another continent and I thought it would be my last. Glad I gave it another try because Ngoni & Reagan delivered the absolute best experience.

I had an amazing time with Ngoni and most notably Eddy my guide. I traveled solo for this trip so the person I spent 9 days with was key to the experience. Eddy was a pleasure to be around - very personable and knowledgeable. There is a lot of travel time between locations so having the right travel partner is key! The accommodations were as described and added comfort plus enjoyable meals at the end of each day. They were equal feel of being one with nature but offering the creature comforts I want while traveling. All animal encounters were incredible but the gorillas stole the show. It was clear they were just as interested in our visit as we were to see them. I loved the challenge of getting to them to see them in their world. If you are considering a trip to Uganda then I definitely recommend putting your trust in Ngoni to give you a memorable vacation!
