The Danakil Depression is one of the hottest, lowest, and driest places on the planet. In the northernmost pocket of Ethiopia, it is home to salt lakes, lava lakes, volcanoes and neon acid springs. The remoteness of the Danakil combined with its extreme climate and striking visuals make it among the most remarkable destinations on the planet.

I am glad I chose this company. I am an artist and I was looking to get outside of my comfort zone in hopes of finding inspiration. Mickey made us feel safe but not secluded. Every village we visited we felt like distant family visiting loved ones instead of just spectating tourists. He is very educated on his community and was able to answer every question that came across my imagination. I feel so fulfilled after this trip and am considering moving to Ethiopia for a couple months to spend more time with all the amazing people mickey introduced me too.

We spent 5 days in Ethiopia. Habtamu from Taitu Tours and his team organized everything to perfection. Attention was paid to every detail, from airport pickup to drop-off, including a nice Christmas dinner at the hotel. We arrived a day later than planned, and Habtamu was able to reorganize our tour so as to cover everything that was in the original 6-day tour. I will definitely recommend Taitu Tours to my friends, because they are highly reliable.

We just finished 8-day circuit through Ethiopia, spanning from Bahir Dar in the north down to Omo Valley in the south. The itinerary was very well organized, transitioning us from Addis Ababa to the lakes of Arba Minch. Our guides were very knowledgeable and made the history of the Lakeside monasteries and the Blue Nile Falls come alive. Despite the remote locations, safety was always a top priority and we felt completely secure. We were impressed by the high standard of the eco-lodges and accommodations. The absolute highlight was the immersive time spent with the Hamer and Karo tribes. Experiencing their traditions firsthand was a profound, once-in-a-lifetime cultural exchange.

A Trip That Felt Easy, Happy & Well Taken Care Of Our 8-day trip to Ethiopia with Danakil Depression Tours turned out to be a really enjoyable and comfortable experience. From the start, everything was planned well, so we could just relax and enjoy without worrying about timings or arrangements. The hotels were very good , clean, comfortable, and with nice service. After long sightseeing days, having a good place to rest made a big difference. Traveling between places was smooth, and we also enjoyed trying Ethiopia food, which added to the overall experience. What truly made this trip special was our tour guide akelilu . He handled everything so smoothly that we never felt confused or stressed. His experience in managing both international and domestic trips clearly showed in the way he coordinated the group, explained things patiently, and kept everything on track. He was always approachable, calm, and ready to help , a perfect example of what a tour guide should be. Because of him, the trip felt easy and well-managed. Our group was also very punctual, which helped us visit all destinations comfortably without any rush. Overall, it was a very pleasant journey, and we would definitely recommend Danakil Depression Tours to our friends and family.

Our trip was super. We we enjoyed each and every moment of the trip. Co ordination and planning was super. I wish more travels with Danakil Tours in future. Good and accommodation were excellent. Especially accomodation was arranged in the same hotel all 2 night days. Hats off to Danakil for that. Without a special appreciation I could not conclude, it is to Mr Mickey our tour manager,a young boy but he did his duty with excellent professionalism. A bright future is ahead for him in the tourism field. And also Mr.Rodas our guide in Lalibela was a born professional in the field, his explanations about each and every thing we saw was very classy and his language and fluency was extremely good and memorable. Thanks to entire Danakil team for making the trip soo super.
