Lovely cruise through the Speicherstadt and harbour. Our guide very kindly translated into English for us, which was unexpected and much appreciated. He was informative and funny. We've done two Hamburg cruises with visitors and this was by far the better one.

Must do experience on a non rainy day. One can hear the stories behind all major buildings and listen to lively background music.

Very interesting walk through the canals of Hamburg accompanied by the Rainer Abich app since I am French and do not master English.

Fresh off our train from Frankfurt and settled into Hamburg's rhythm, we knew we needed a way to dive deep into this port city's heartbeat without the hassle of foot-slogging. The 90-minute harbor tour through the Speicherstadt? It was the serendipitous splash we craved—part history lesson, part thrill ride, all unforgettable magic on the water. Boarding from the bustling St. Pauli Landungsbrücken felt like stepping onto a movie set, with the Elbe humming around us. Our captain—witty, knowledgeable, and bilingual (English for us Yanks)—wove tales of Hamburg's seafaring past as we glided into the narrow canals of the UNESCO-listed Speicherstadt. Those iconic red-brick warehouses rose like gingerbread giants, their gables reflected in the glassy water, whispering stories of coffee traders and spice merchants from centuries ago. We hugged the edges so close, it was like brushing shoulders with history. Then came the jaw-dropper: edging right up to colossal container ships, these behemoths towering like floating skyscrapers, cranes swinging loads that could fill a small town. The scale? Mind-bending. We looped into HafenCity too, catching glimpses of sleek modern architecture blending seamlessly with the old-world charm—think futuristic Elbphilharmonie peeking from afar, all under a sky that shifted from cloudy to golden-hour glow. At just 90 minutes, it was perfectly paced: informative without dragging, scenic without superficial. Audio guides and live commentary kept us hooked, and the hop-on-hop-off vibe meant we could've extended if we wanted (next time!). It's the ideal intro (or encore) to Hamburg—affordable, accessible, and utterly immersive. If you're harborside in Hamburg, don't miss this. It turned our jet-lagged haze into wide-eyed wonder. Prost to the waves—we're hooked for life!

We were the only passengers on a boat that could hold 90, but Leon the skipper couldn’t have made us more welcome. Our visit took place during an afternoon of persistent heavy rain which maybe put other people off. At any rate, Leon ploughed on! To get the audio that accompanied the tour you need to download the app, which we did after boarding. But it would have been good to know about this beforehand so we could take headphones: you can’t easily hear the audio guide over the sound of the engine. The boat’s own audio system was faulty. You get a good tour of the extensive port and some exceptional buildings. A good way to spend a wet afternoon in Hamburg. Thank you Leon.

All very well, punctual on schedule, very friendly and very clean, especially the bathroom. The guide apparently made good jokes because everyone else was laughing, except me, who doesn't understand German.
