Strange tales from haunted homes and hotels abound as does mysterious maritime history. The supernatural stories of this community feature roaming spirits, Spiritualist seances, and a poltergeist. You'll also see the supernatural side of celebrities who summered in the Kennebunks, including Booth Tarkington and Margaret Deland, and fathom the seafaring yarns of haunted lighthouses, dire premonitions, ghost ships, and sea serpents.

Start at White Columns, a striking Greek Revival house built in 1853. Parts of the house were sealed off for 70 years, preserving the home as it once was. This residential time capsule now houses the First Families Museum. Today visitors enjoy tours of this beautiful mansion until they encounter its ghostly inhabitants.
Louis. T. Graves Memorial Public Libray
Take a closer look at this historic building's most curious feature, a headstone embedded in the exterior wall. Hear the story behind it as well as the tale of a local poltergeist investigated by esteemed artist Abbott Graves and other pillars of the community.

This was such a great time!! Diane was EXCEPTIONAL. She was a top notch story teller. This ghost walk was extra fun for us because we’re locals. It was wonderful to learn local history and who doesn’t enjoy some good ghost stories!

It’s great. Narrator was very good and so were the stories. The town looks very different at night. Got some good tips on other tours to take in the area such as the historical society museum.

The tour lasted about an hour and 15 minutes and was just ok. We would stop at various homes and hear a story, and then move on. Not all stops pertained to the story told. The tour guide lady was nice, though. Finally, the tour was supposed to end at where we started, but it did not. It was nowhere close. I would not recommend this particular tour.

Matt was great and well informed. He was interactive and made the tour fun. Third ghost tour I have been on and it had the most detail and photos were shown about the people and houses, it gave us a face to the names. The 90 minutes go by fast. Worth the price and would do it again.
