Over 2 hours and 30 minutes, our local expert guides will take you on a journey back in time through the city centre of Belfast. You will discover how 'the Troubles' started, visit the locations where some of the most important events occurred, and learn about the path to reconciliation and eventually peace (and the challenges the future may hold). You will discover the realities of growing up and living your life during the conflict, and how it touched everyone. The tour is factual and historically accurate to ensure it is unbiased, the guides are conflict historians, who also weave their own stories into their tours to bring history to life, transporting you back to the Belfast of the 1970s and giving you a unique understanding of the recent past. The tour starts each day at 10.30am.

It was basically raining the entire tour so I did not catch her name but she was very friendly, stayed concerned with the group during the heavy rains, found some refuge under areas where we did not get rained on and was very informative since she lived here during that period.

Firstly, our guide was informed, unbiased and very relatable to our group. Being from Canada, we had heard of goings on during The Troubles, but obviously had never experienced it and to be touring with a guide who was close to our age and could tell us how he remembers growing up and seeing streets closed because of conflicts, hearing bombs and what he experienced in this city during those years, just seemed to make the entire experience hit home that much harder for us. It was a great walking tour and one of the most memorable parts of our stay

Had a lovely time being on Mylie’s tour. The information was absolutely fascinating and being able to walk exactly where the experiences were being spoken about was surreal. Strongly recommend this tour with DC.

This was a fascinating tour with in depth details of the history of violence in Belfast specifically addressing the Troubles between 1969 - 1998. Eugene was very interesting and knowledgeable about this subject. The walking distance for the 2.5 hour tour was not too long over flat surfaces and Eugene was always aware of the group’s safety on the streets. Highly recommended tour.

This was honestly one of the best walking tours I’ve ever done. The tour covers the Troubles with a clear, balanced approach, and Roy was an exceptional guide — incredibly knowledgeable and able to explain everything in a way that felt engaging and easy to follow. You also get to see a lot of the city as you go, which makes the experience even richer. I left with a much deeper understanding of Belfast and a real respect for the city and its people. It genuinely added to how much I loved my time there. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Belfast.
