What To Expect
National Museum of Ethiopia
Currently, the National Museum of Ethiopia has four main exhibition sections. The basement is dedicated to archaeological and paleo anthropological sections. This area shows the previously mentioned hominids. The first floor contains objects from ancient and medieval periods, as well as ceremonial objects and souvenirs from former rulers, including Emperor Haile Selassie. The second floor shows art work in a chronological order, from traditional to contemporary works. These include murals, Afework Teklie and other Ethiopian artists. Finally, the third floor has an ethnographic display. Here, the museum gives an overview of the cultural richness and variety of the peoples of Ethiopia

5.00I had a wonderful experience traveling Mickey with Danakil Tours. The entire trip was very well planned, smooth, and hassle-free. From accommodation to transport and sightseeing, everything was handled professionally, which allowed us to truly enjoy the beauty of the islands without any stress. A special mention to our guide Aby, who made the trip even more memorable. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. He explained the history and importance of places like the Addis in a very engaging way and ensured that everyone in the group was comfortable and enjoying the tour. The itinerary covered all the major highlights including the stunning Mickey exciting water activities like visits Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I would highly recommend Danakil Tours to anyone planning an ethiopia trip. From the moment we were picked up, everything was perfectly organized and professionally handled. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about Addis Ababa’s main attractions but also about Ethiopia’s rich history, culture, and traditions. Visiting the National Museum of Ethiopia and seeing “Lucy” in person was a highlight, and the detailed explanations made the experience even more meaningful. The panoramic views from Mount Entoto were breathtaking, and we loved exploring the vibrant atmosphere of Mercato, one of the largest open-air markets in Africa. What really stood out was the company’s attention to detail and genuine hospitality. The guide was patient, friendly, and happy to answer all our questions.
