What To Expect
You will meet our staff upon arrival from your international flight or at the hotel and our first site drive to Ethnological Museum houses anthropological, musicological and cultural objects. The Ethnological Museum is the first university museum in Ethiopia. The Museum is located in the main Campus of Addis Ababa University which houses the Institute of Ethiopian Studies and it was the former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie. Our Second site drive to Merkato, established by the Italians around 1937 it’s the largest open air market place in Africa, Covering several square miles and employing an estimated 13,000 people in 7,100 business entities. After we buy important ingredients for food preparation we drive to one of our staff house 1. Ethiopia’s National food called Injera (Enjera) and eats with your fingers 2. Shiro is a delicious chickpea powder-based dish 3. Mesir wot is a delicious (and beautifully coloured) combination of split red lentils simmered in spicy berbere sauce. 4. Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony. Finally, you will be transfer to airport for your departure or Hotel

5.00I joined this tour straight from the airport on the day I arrived. It was my first time in Ethiopia, and I’m so glad I booked this for my first day. We visited museums, saw monuments all around the city, and I learned a lot about the country’s history. The tour was packed with great experiences—checking out the massive Merkato, enjoying local coffee, and even getting to try a home cooking experience. My guide Joseph was super kind and flexible, always adjusting the tour based on what I was interested in. I also got to try local liqueur, which was a fun surprise! It was a fun, safe, and really fulfilling experience. Highly recommended!

5.00Spent a long layover day with Joseph our knowledge tour guide and Bart our driver in Addis Ababa. Great tour in terms of locations covered, transportation , detailed information provided. The coffee stop and market were the highlights for me. Would definitely recommend this tour (Ask for Joseph) if you find yourself on a layover in Addis Ababa.

5.00Very nice home cooking experience. We had a short tour of the city (unfortunately museum was closed on monday), drive throuth the market and shopping for groceries. Next we visited guide's home where we coocked vry tasty dish in very cozy atmosphere with his family. Ended tour with coffee ceremony. Highly recommended.

5.00Joseph and George were punctual and always available. Joseph, an excellent guide who knows everything about the museums and continues to inform himself, even found us a vegetarian place. George great driver, always smiling. Addis Ababa is worth a visit, Spectacular market

5.00If you have little time, visit the best places in Addis Ababa with Joseph, at the appointed time Joseph and his driver looked for us, and they took us to the best places, they took us to eat at a typical place (but always asking if we wanted to do it or what we wanted to eat), at all times he made an effort for us to understand what he was telling us since we do not speak English!! It is the second excursion we have done with Joseph, first the park awash and then the city tour, very satisfied!!! Now we have a friend in Ethiopia!!

5.00City tour was excellent with Joseph and a great driver. Leisurely time to spend at each site, and was not rushed. Joseph answered all questions with great detail regarding the sites and the city of Addis Ababa. Highly recommend, and the local lunch stop was excellent.

5.00Aman Day Tour of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia is an excellent company! I flew Singapore to Addis Ababa with Ethiopian airlines. Arrival was 6am but departure Addis Ababa wasn’t until 11pm that day to Toronto so to fill the time, I took the day tour with a friend. - pickup time was right on time at 9am at the Ethiopian Skyline Hotel. - toured St George Church and were surprised that the tour company arranged for a private tour of the church and their adjacent museum by the actual Vickar of the church. - toured Merkato Market, the largest market in Africa - were driven to Mount Entotonfor a view of the entire city of Addis Ababa - toured the Ethnological Museum of Ethiopia. Our guide guided us through it - toured the National Museum of Ethiopia and got to see Lucy!!! - got taken to an extremely authentic Ethiopian restaurant for injeera and various samplings of great food Joseph (Joe) was our guide. I give him an A+++ for his skills and friendliness. -

5.00The tour covered all major sightseeings in Addis Ababa from markets to museums. I have learnt lots of history about the country, people, culture and local customs. My guide Yoseph has full experience of showing me around his city and country. We tasted the local coffee and hiked the Mount Entoto. It was my highlight during my visit in Ethiopia.

5.00We spent the afternoon seeing Addis during our long layover with Joseph. He was great. He pick us up on time and showed us all the highlights and was very accommodating. He had good knowledge that he was able to share and made the tour interesting. He got us back to our hotel right on time so we could get to our next flight. It was a nice way to make the most of a layover in Ethiopia.
