What To Expect
Addis Ababa
Food tours are concentrated in a single neighborhood where we walk between each stop. In total, we spend around 45 to 60 minutes on foot. The tour lasts roughly four hours and we’ll keep the food and beer coming to make certain you leave happy and stuffed. What’s included? injera baking challenge – Do you dare to bake injera perfectly? A group of expert women will be waiting for you Food at two restaurants (Taitu Hotel, Kebede Gebere Welde Butchery) Fresh juice, unlimited beers and soft drinks.

5.00We had a great food tour with Oli and would definitely recommend him if you want a real introduction to Ethiopian food and culture. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made everything feel easy and relaxed, even when we were trying things for the first time. We started with a traditional coffee ceremony and then tried a mix of local dishes, including beyaynetu, shekla tibs, and tire siga. Oli took us to places we never would have found on our own and explained what everything was and how to eat it. The experience felt authentic, not touristy, and we left very full and happy. Highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Addis.

5.00We really enjoyed this tour. We stopped at several places and the food was amazing. Our tour guides Abreham and Mahlet were the best. They were great at explaining the culture of Ethiopia. I will definitely schedule more tours with them.

5.00Oli and Abraham were fantastic. They are both extremely knowledgeable, not just about what you do and eat but also about the culture and history of the country. Even just driving to our locations, I got a city tour, and then while we ate and walked around I was able to ask all kinds of questions and get thorough, articulate answers. I laughed, learned, ate great food, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I’d highly recommend this experience for anyone who is interested in getting to taste highlights in an off-the-beaten-path kind of way.

5.00Jhun was an absolute blast to hang out with! He took us to local authentic Ethiopian restaurants that we would have never found on our own. We felt like we got the true Ethiopian experience. We even went and bought mitmita before going home! I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience local Ethiopian cuisine. Plus Jhun is part time comedian and you will be sure to have a great time with lots of laughs!

I happened to be the only guest on the tour that day, and instead of feeling awkward or rushed, it turned into one of the most personal and enriching travel experiences I’ve had. My guide was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, making the entire tour feel tailored just for me. He took the time to explain the history and culture behind each dish, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable and welcomed throughout. The food itself was absolutely delicious — a perfect mix of traditional flavors and local favorites. Being the only guest meant I got to try even more dishes and spend extra time enjoying each stop.
