We start from Antigua Guatemala towards the Department of Escuintla- to the town of San Francisco de Sales where the ascent begins on the hike to the Pacaya volcano, incredible views on the ascent such as the Laguna de Calderas located in the municipality, incredible views of petrified rivers of magma at the top and a very beautiful view of other volcanoes such as the Agua y Fuego volcano from the top.
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours this ascent.

What To Expect
Pacaya Volcano
We start with 1 hour 15 minutes en route with the vehicle. Our Guide will be waiting at the entrance of San Francisco de Sales for the group where their water bottle will be delivered and they will acquire the entrance tickets, we will also have a period of 10 minutes to enter the Restrooms. After this, the adventure of climbing the Pacaya volcano will begin and enjoy the tour. The ascent hike will begin where we will take 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours to climb the volcano A period of 30 minutes will be taken to observe from the top and be able to capture beautiful photographs. Then you will return down the roads until you reach the vehicle for 45 minutes. Then we will take the vehicle back to Antigua 1 hour on the way.

1.00The tour operator failed to pick us up at the appointed time and location. Contact with the tour operator was futile. I would give this zero stars. I have initiated a credit card dispute since the service was not delivered. Big disappointment all around.

5.00We were visiting the incredible Guatemala with a group of friends where we met José Lara, a very kind, generous person with a lot of knowledge and love for his country. We were on some tours with him (Lake Atitlán, Pacaya volcano, Iximche Ruins, one of my favorites next to the Chichicastenango market) the Guatemalan culture and its colorful ethnic groups have left me eager to return to Guatemala to visit again and refer this agency.
