This activity ends back at the meeting point.
The tour begins departing from centrally located hotels in El Calafate at 8.00am. We travel 50km through a rute full of Estancias (ranchs), until Lago Roca where we will embark on a small boat with a capacity for 15 people. We will navigate 45 minutes enjoying the unique sights of the lake where the typical Patagonian steppe landscape mixes with the Antarctic and Lenga Beech forests. We will arrive at the south end of the South Arm of the lake where the first stage of the trekking starts up to the Lago Frias. We will walk through an unexplored site, virgin forest and natural scenery will appear in front of our eyes. Once we reach the lake, we will embark on a motorize rubber boat to cross it and start the second stage of the trekking: the hike to the Grande Glacier, located at the extreme southwest of the park. We will get to a magical place and enjoy a glacier valley with changing environments until we reach the amphitheater of glaciers which is a true timeline of the glacial era. In this spot we will have lunch with views of the Grande, Cubo and Dickson glaciers. Once we finish our lunch, we will start our return through the same path.
