It is about two hours of mostly standing around and some minor walking. You learn about Bristol's history briefly, and then most of the tour is focused on the Corn Exchange especially as it relates to its basement being an air-raid shelter in WW2. The tour guide is informative and funny, and I have a wonderful time.

Duncan was a most entertaining, knowledgeable and incredibly likeable host. The tour beneath the Corn Exchange far exceeded our expectations. What we were shown was incredible, when the image on the wall beneath St Nicolas Market was revealed, the connection to history that we felt was undeniable. I learned things about Bristol that day that I would have never of known otherwise. I will never look at Bristol in the same way again. Showing large photographs of buildings that once stood and being able to compare then and now was fascinating. I truly cannot wait to experience more tours with Duncan. I came away absolutely thrilled and thirsty for more and with a sly wink, I can walk past The Corn Exchange knowing what lies beneath, while all around me people don't have a clue. I would highly recommend the tour if you are interested in the blitz or just the WW2 experience for Bristol city dwellers back in the 1940's. Definitely worth the price.

My wife and I absolutely loved the two hours spent exploring the underworld of St. Nick's Market. What a fascinating place and so full of amazing history. Our guide Duncan's enthusiasm and demeaner was a joy to listen to. Super knowledgeable, and he obviously loves his job. Quite rightly Duncan hopes that one day the air raid shelter will become an official museum. Although this would make a wonderful asset to Bristol, there's something more intimate about the exclusivity of having a personal tour, so perhaps don't wait - book your ticket now whilst you still can!

Fun and fascinating tour, recommended for kids and adults. Theresa, our guide, did a great job, taking us behind the scenes at St Nick's Market and down into the shelter, which is so atmospheric. She was very knowledgeable and gave us some amazing insights and humorous anecdotes, not just about St Nick's in WW2 but throughout the ages. She was fantastic at engaging with two kids on the tour too.

Brilliant tour - entertaining and illuminating. I'd lived over five years in Bristol but I learned a lot I didn't know before, about the architecture, World War Two, the Corn Exchange and sixties music in Bristol

Really interesting and lively, full of interesting insights and artefacts, recommended! I thought it would be a fairly standard or staid tour but it was really well done and funny. Kids loved it.

Brilliant tour. Fascinating to see beneath corn street and the historical elements remaining from WWII. Worth 90 minutes of anyone’s time. My 7 year old niece was gripped for the whole time.
