Shai Hills Resource Reserve
The Shai Hills Resource Reserve is a located in the Shai Osudoku District all in the Greater Accra Region. Which was declared Forest Reserve in 1962 with 47 square kilometres which was later extended to 51 square kilometres in 1973. It was made a Game Production Reserve in 1971. The protected area was home to the Shai people before they were ejected by the British in 1892, remains of Shai peoples works can still be found at the reserve. A mosaic of forest covers the 5 separate hills in the reserve. Various animals and over 172 bird species have been identified in the reserve. The reserve also houses the Manya Ancestral home, which is the second largest settlement and second highest hill in the Reserve. Sites along the 1,200 trail are strewn with artifacts over a 150 years old offering visitors a glimpse into the past of the shai people. Your guide will take you on a short hike to see the best of Shai Hills. Comfy closed toes footwear please.
Pont Adomi A Atimpoku
The Adomi Bridge (originally the Volta Bridge) is a latticed steel arch suspension bridge crossing the Volta River at Atimpoku in Ghana in West Africa. It is the first permanent bridge to span the Volta River, which drains south into the Gulf of Guinea, and is Ghana's longest suspension bridge. It provides the main road passage, just south of the Akosombo Dam, between the Eastern Region and the Volta Region of Ghana. It was opened in 1957 by Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first president. The iconic crescent-shaped arch bridge is featured in Ghanaian stamps and currency. We will park up and walk on over to enjoy the stunning views, take our photos and videos before moving on to the next destination.
