This is an excellent short tour of around 4.5 hours. If you want to see the real Japan without the thong of tourists this is your for you. We were taken off the beaten track to see a fantastic view of Mt Fuji - where no tourist bus could ever reach. This is an authentic experience of seeing shrimp drying in the sun, walking through a green tea plantation against the backdrop of Mt Fuji and Shimizu city below. Then it was off to the backstreets to Wagashi making experience - a traditional Japanese sweet. My wife and I enjoyed this tour immensely. Kato san and his assistant Su-san were marvellous. We recommend this tour without hesitation. Thank you Kato and Su-san….from your grateful Aussies.

Very nice tour. I would suggest to go on a clear, sunny day. Our guide was extremely nice but her English was not the best and her knowledge was limited as she read most of the info.

The wagashi artisan was so kind and patient, and thanks to their guidance, I was able to make beautiful wagashi myself! Out of the two sweets I made, I enjoyed one with a cup of green tea—it was delicious. I took the other one back and proudly showed it to everyone on the cruise ship. They all said it looked beautiful! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience and memory. I’ll definitely come again!

It was a fantastic experience. I noticed that Wagashi is one of the Japanese culture. I can make Wagashi well because of a kind Wagashi master. I wish that I could attend this activity!

The Japanese confectionery master's teaching method was very careful, and I was able to make two very cute Japanese sweets in no time.

My 6-year-old daughter was also able to join in, and thanks to the teacher’s gentle and thoughtful teaching style, she learned with confidence. We both had such a joyful and meaningful time together.
