We got off cruise ship with no directions. Walked a bit, found a bunch of people and guides, finally a nice guide saw us looking defeated (we were 10 minutes looking for our “Henry Tour” guide by then) and took us to a lady in a blue shirt who said to stay put. We did. 10 minutes later a very nice man (Kissley) found us and led my group (4) and another group of (2) to his Toyota mid size SUV. Small, with my granddaughter and daughter crammed in the way back, me wedged with the other couple in the middle and my wife in front……. FOR THE 45 MINUTE DRIVE to the glass bottom boat. That sucked. A/C took 10 minutes to get going and we were roasting. When we arrived, the tour company tried to tell our guide (and us) that we had been “bumped” for a higher paying group and would have to drive to the other side of the island for another boat. Our guide (great guy by the way, and none of this is on him) argued with them and finally “won” and we parked and got out. Cue the 45 MINUTE WAIT in a lawn chair for the boat to come back (boat ride is only 30 minutes so I suspect they took the VIP group before us anyway and made us sit there and wait in heat. Boat was ok. Nothing great. Drove then to the “chocolate factory” which is just a chocolate store where they try to sell you stuff, and you get 2-3 mini nibbles of free chocolate. Back in the Toyota to the sloth/monkey stop. Sketchy. Only able to get in one monkey cage, with one monkey in it, and he was mean as hell. He bit the handler and wouldn’t let anyone touch him. And he was the nice monkey! The sloths were almost worse. There were two, and you weren’t allowed to touch them, which was NOT as advertised. Ate there, as we were starving, and the food was ok, but SUPER pricey ($25 for fried fish plate) and it took an hour to get our food. Over 30 minutes back to the ship in the Toyota after that. Bottom line, I don’t usually complain, but this excursion sucked (except for our guide). It was more driving in the cramped car than excursion. Price was very high for no monkey or sloth interaction, combined with all the other stuff. Get off the boat, walk to the right to the Mahagony Bay Beach area, rent a chaise with an umbrella and enjoy the beach and great service instead. This tour was a time consuming waste.

The tour/driver sent us to the animal park near the cruise port terminal (walking distance), but this park did not have sloth on January 8, 2026. The driver did not give us any time break in the beach. The car put 4 people together (my wife and I have a ticket with all inclusive, but the other couple without all inclusive).

This tour was awesome and our driver Harley Rich made it very enjoyable. The boat/sub was a great way to see the coral reef. The wildlife exhibit with monkeys and slots was a fun stop as well.

We just got home from our cruise and I had to write a review because this was our favorite excursion! We had 3 adults and we have 5 children under 8 including a 4 month old! With so many children we are always unsure when we get to knew places but as soon as we met with Craig we knew this was a great company. They were so polite and helpful. Craig called someone to come and get us which took about 5 minutes. He got us cold waters while we waited. Kislen showed up to give us a ride and he was so nice, helpful and polite. The boat ride itself was AMAZING. It has AC. I will say it again. The boat is air conditioned and so nice that our 4 month old took a nice nap while we enjoyed seeing all kinds of coral, fish and sea turtles! We even saw someone scuba diving which was cool. The lady who I wish I got her name was so well informed. Being bilingual myself I can say everyone spoke very well in both languages! It was by far our favorite excursion! There is a beach there to enjoy with a restaurant/ bar and restrooms. We decided to head back with the baby but that would be a fun time as well.

Our driver Harley Bennett was outstanding! We accidently went to the wrong pick up point and Harley brought us back to the correct one. In addition, he was always ready to take us to our next stop and even took us to a wouderful place to eat next to our pier. Would highly recommend Harley for you next stop in Routan. Also the sloth and glassbotuom boat tour were great too.

Probably the best excursion we’ve had. The sloth and monkey encounter was amazing. We were up close to all the animals. My kids had a great time. The glass bottom boat was “half submarine” so it was a better experience than your regular glass bottom boat. Our driver brought us to an amazing lunch spot and gave us time at the beach. Super friendly driver! Would definitely recommend for a family with younger kids.

We had a lot of time for Interaction with the animals. The Guide in the animal park described a lot and was helpful for taking handy photos. Because it started raining at the beach we switched to visit of a chocolate manufactury and of shops,. We enjoyed a lot.

We had the most amazing day with Harley. We thought we would be with a group but it turned out to be a private tour. He went above and beyond. He was waiting for us and took us even though we were a half hour early. We stopped at the rum factory before taking us to the beach for the glass bottom boat boat portion of the tour. He helped us navigate all the people selling stuff in the beach, negotiated us a very fair price for two neck massages and patiently waited. After the glass bottom boat he drove us to the chocolate factory and then to a market that sells locally made items using recycled materials found around the island. The sloths and monkeys were so fun and we got great pictures. Harley then continued the island tour pointing out places and sharing interesting facts about the island. He took us to a beautiful beach for fresh fish and ceviche. We were heading back to the boat when my friend mentioned that she was looking for a small carryon. In a flash he had us at a small shop and negotiated a very fair price for what we needed. We were back to the boat with plenty of time to spare. If you get an opportunity to take this tour package, ask for Harley. He made our day so special. As two middle age women traveling together we felt extremely safe and comfortable with Harley as our guide. We can’t say enough good things about him.
