Staff were friendly and we got lots of drinks. Overall the experience was great. Review would be 5 stars except for the fact that we were not provided with snorkels when we went snorkeling…..if I knew this beforehand I would have purchased some or went with a different tour. False advertising to say you provide snorkelling gear and don’t have snorkels. We were only given fins and goggles.

Pros: Friendly staff. English & Spanish. Open tequila bar (palomas, margaritas, sunrises, shots) & beer Snorkeling equipment provided + life jackets Company contacted us beforehand with directions Free parking (to the left... if you go to the right, you have to pay) two toilets on board (ask how to flush it before using it) Shade and seating on dock. All you can eat buffet. pool and free restrooms at beach club tables and beach chairs first come first served two different beaches on Isla Mujeres optional golf car tour at 2nd stop ($80 USD per cart up to four people) Cons: -Miscommunication around boarding. We received lots of information about where to go and what to expect but based on a lot of reviews, the boats don't always leave on time. This was NOT our experience. We showed up an hour early, but were under the impression from the itinerary that check-in and boarding started at 12. This is the exact departure time. We got in line at 11:45. By the time we go to the window to pay the $20 environmental fee, they said our boat had left. They had our contact information and never tried to see if we were there. At first, they said that was the last boat and we could come back tomorrow. (we had other tours booked so this wasn't an option, and of course no refund because we missed the boat). After some problem solving, we realized there was a 1 pm departure. We waited around for another hour and a half to see if we could get on that boat. Thankfully, we did. However, by the time we boarded, everyone was irritiated due to the lack of communication. Some people on that boat, were actually part of the 10:30 departure. Their boat had broken down. We ended up borrowing a boat from another company. One lady went off on them at boarding which was uncomfortable, but I think they handled that well. Overall, we were just happy to have not lost the trip all together. It just got off to a rough start! The mechanical issues weren't their fault... people were just upset at the lack of communication. Some people just left because they didn't know what was going on. Just know... get in line to check in early. The light lunch they provide is served early too. We missed out on that even at 11:45. It looked like sandwiches, cookies and juice. Bottom line: BE EARLY regardless of what the reviews say. The start time is the DEPARTURE time, and they will leave without trying to contact you. -snorkeling subject to conditions (it was rough when we went so many sat out) adjust your mask BEFORE getting in the water. The snorkels are open on the end, they do not have a water stop so if you lean wrong, you will inhale seawater. -Lifejackets are mandatory, but one-size. Mine was massive which made swimming difficult, and the bottom buckle kept unsnapping. -Unsure if it was the spot we were in, but it was all grass and sand. We didn't see any reef. This was not a leisurely activity. It was work, even for those in good shape! You have to keep up with the guide (who was wearing fins, so he was faster than everyone). They don't just drop you off to float around. I was more concerned about keeping up then actually looking below me. Nobody truly enjoyed this part. They tell you that if you can't swim 300 m and keep up, there's "no way to rescue you with the boat". They said not to start if you can't finish, so many stayed on the boat. If you can't swim, they won't let you get in even with a lifejacket. - We were told the bar at the beach club was open bar... it is not. There was a lot of miscommunication. Maybe it was just beer at one of the bars? We never figured it out and just didn't drink. - Seating is a bit crowded on the front of the boat. You will be stepping over people constantly. Don't bring a lot of stuff, and if you do - make sure it has a carabiner or tie of some sort, so it doesn't fall off the boat. We didn't realize until the way back that sitting in the back was an option. The way back was really nice. The only actual seating though is right in front of the speakers, so bring earplugs if that's an issue. - Not the company's fault, but people don't listen. They give time limits... please follow them out of courtesy to everyone. People kept wandering off, so we spent a lot of time waiting on people so we could move on. Just be prepared for that. The guide was obviously frustrated by this. Other: - American pop music on stereo - Restroom access on the beach was 5 or 10 pesos. Change beforehand if you need to. -There is a photographer onboard for an additional fee at the end, which is fine but just keep in mind all the photos they're having you pose for are not included. The pictures were great though! It's a nice option to have. - From actual departure (around 1:30) to return, the experience was 6 hours long. We were pretty tired by the time it was all over, so that was fine but I think the itinerary said 8. I don't think I would do THIS exact itinerary again, but it was an overall good experience. I would do Isla Contoy instead.

It was just okay. Next time I would just take the ferry which is way cheaper and explore the island alone. I was disappointed because the snorkeling felt just thrown on - not a major component of the excursion.

Our tour team was great. But the amount $75 that they take for Gold car is too much . Next time I will rent mine by myself. Other than that it was great.
