What To Expect
Jinshanling Great Wall
Start off between 11:00pm and 1:30pm base on the season, and your guide will reconfirm the actual start time one day before the travel day. After picking up from your hotel lobby in Beijing city, you will be transferred to Jinshanling Great Wall (2.5 hours driving time). Upon arrival, walk about 30 minutes to the Houchuankou City Gate Tower. Start a very easy hike towards west for another 2 to 3 hours to reach the west 5-hole Guard Tower, the best point to take a sunset photos here. After enjoying the beautiful sunset, leave the Great Wall from Taochunkou Tower. Then, have a tasty local dinner at a farmer’s restaurant. When your tour is completed, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing city.

5.00When we saw only 6reviews we got unsure about booking this trip. We did it anyway, Nikki and I, from France and Netherlands and we cannot recommend more!!! Peter our chinese guide spoke perfect English and great driver with him. He was very knowledgeable and we got picked up from our hotel in Beijing center. It was about 2.5h drive to the wall section, and all tickets and diner was arranged for us. Peter our guide was suuuuuuper friendly and chill. We are photographers and he made sure we would enjoy every single part of the wall, and be on time for the perfect spot for sun Setting behind the wall. He was also very flexible about where we wanted to be for our best photo location and we staid until after sunset. What an insane day! The wall was quasi empty we managed so many images of it with barely seeing 30 people the whole day!!!! Do this! Book this ! shinjanling isthe best!

5.00Can’t recommend this tour enough! There were no crowds at all on this section of the wall, but what made this tour exceptional was our guide James. He was extremely knowledgeable about Chinese history and the wall, and even sent us some drone footage he took of us on the wall. Everything was perfect from the time he picked us up (in a lovely spacious and comfortable car) to being dropped off at the end. An excellent experience!

5.00This was an unforgettable experience. James was amazing and we met so many friendly people along the way. The Great Wall was breathtaking and the dinner after sunset may be the best we’ve ever eaten. Highly recommend!!!

5.00I’ve done many tours with James and they’re always wonderful. He keeps the group small and manageable and always finds beautiful places to go without huge crowds. This tour was no exception. And what a way to spend the summer solstice - watching the sunset on the Great Wall. Absolutely five stars.

5.00My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience and see the Great Wall! This part of the wall is very quiet so we only came across about 10 people during the 4 hour tour. We leisurely hiked for about 3 hours in total, then spent an hour in total stopping along the way to take photos. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and at lunch, he ordered some local dishes that we otherwise would not have ordered. It was delicious! Highly recommend doing this tour!

5.00What an experience. Vicky met us at our hotel at 11am and drove the 4 of us to a local restaurant near the wall. We had a lovely linch at around 1.30pm after which we went to the entrance and began our walk. We walked up for 45 mins after which we saw the true beauty of the wall and spent the next 2 and a half hours in awe. Vicky's knowledge of the wall was great and her english was excellent. We then took about 30 minutes walking down and then drove back to our hotel. A great experience and definitely a must when in Beijing. We were unlucky with the weather so didn't see a sunset but it also meant our time on the wall reasonably cool so overall we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
