Your guide. He was so sweet. Thanks to my inability to speak English and simultaneous interpretation Everything about the townscape in the back alleys and history and food culture You can experience it safely and hygienically, It was a great trip that took me into a world I would never have entered on my own. I was impressed by the one-on-one hospitality, as I was able to taste 20 dishes, and was filled up, taking out the portions that I couldn't fit in, and removing the ingredients that I wasn't good at. The bazaar is great for eating and talking with your hands! I want to come back. India.

After attending Soham’s magic hour tour, we just knew we also had to do the alleyway food tour while in Kolkata, and it was great! We really loved getting an insider look at the neighborhood where Soham grew up and tried several delicious dishes. In addition to being a knowledgeable, kind, and fun guide, Soham was also very accommodating to my Mom’s dietary restrictions and ensured a high level of hygiene at each stop, which was so helpful. Highly recommend this tour!!

We had a memorable experience with Soham, exploring the alleys of his neighbourhood, listening to his interesting stories and tasting excellent food from multiple stops. We were stuffed at the end of the tour, but pleasantly so. The whole experience of doing this tour with Soham will give you lasting memories.

Despite growing up in Kolkata, there were so many stories shared by Soham that were completely new to me! He is extremely polite, friendly and knowledgeable, and makes sure the food is hygienic.

A friend and I recently took the Alleyway food tour with Soham, and it was fantastic. The food was great, but what was even more enjoyable was the experience of Kolkata as seen through Soham‘s eyes. His love for his native City of Joy and its history are infectious, as he brings information and perspective to the fore with enthusiasm and charisma. I particularly appreciated the introduction to Chandra Bose, to whom the history books have given short shrift. Viva la Revolución! Thank you, Soham! I look forward to returning:)

What begins as a food walk slowly turns into a gentle drifting through flavours and forgotten lanes, where sharp spices soften into sweetness and every dish carries the echo of a story. As you wander through a labyrinth of narrow alleyways, led by warm aromas and hushed histories, old Calcutta seems to breathe around you. With Soham guiding the way, the city unfolds not as a place to be seen, but as something to be felt—until the city stops being a destination and becomes a feeling you carry with you. Highly recommened for anyone who wants to experience the food and charm of the City of Joy!

Soham is a wonderful, charming and captivating guide who presents a curated story of Kolkata using food, history through captivating alleyways. These are memories I will always take with me in the future. The tastes are magnificen, but Soham weaves an evening narrative he has clearly thought out well. I enthusiastically recommend!

This was the best Food Tour I’ve ever joined, and Soham was the perfect guide: charming, patient, outstanding friendly and caring, and as a local who grew up in this area he simply knows everything about this part of Calcutta and the food. Highly recommended to anyone who loves food and culture.

I‘m a journalist and have been living in Asia for years. In my time here, I haven’t met a better storyteller than Soham. He knows an anecdote about every food stall you’ll visit and every specialty you’ll try, and gives street food context - historical, sociological, political. He’s great fun, too! The food was delicious and safe, too, but to me, that was almost secondary despite being a foodie. If you want to learn about Kolkata in a tasty and entertaining way, do yourself a favor and give Soham a call!
