Haut Koenigsbourg castle : visit of the castle can be challenging (this tour includes some great deal of walking and Alsace villages have still a large number of cobblestone streets. The visit of Haut Koenigsbourg castle includes walking and quite a number of stairs. This tour is definitely not recommended for persons with limited mobility)
During Christmas period : The tour returns to Strasbourg, just outside the Grande-Ile district, with the exact address to be arranged with the guide.

Great Guide and Scenery, Though Comfort and Crowds Were Challenge

3.00Overall this tour delivered on its advertised itinerary and the small group size of eight was accurate. However, eight people felt too many for the sprinter van, which made the ride quite hot and uncomfortable throughout the day. Colmar and the surrounding villages were undeniably beautiful, but visiting during the Christmas market season meant the crowds were extremely heavy. I expected it to be busy, but the volume of people made it difficult to enjoy the experience. This is not the tour companys fault, but travelers should be aware of what to expect if visiting in December. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, though she only accompanied the group during the castle visit and not at the other stops. While this may be the tour format, it would have been helpful to have guidance at each location. Overall the itinerary is lovely, but I would recommend this tour outside the Christmas market period or with a smaller group for a more comfortable experience. One additional note: remember to bring euros to tip your guide. On my tour only a few participants tipped, which was disappointing given the guides effort and professionalism.

4.00This was a wonderful experience visiting beautiful medieval villages during the Christmas season. Colmar and Riquewihr were a feast to the eyes with its picturesque sights and festive atmosphere. Lea was a wonderful guide, she delivered a great service and made everyone engaged and comfortable. However I am very disappointed that we did not visit Eguisheim as promised by the tour description, I was looking forward to seeing this place as I heard it’s equally charming as Riquewihr. Viator (or perhaps the tour company) has done it again failing to deliver a full tour as this also happened to us in a tour in Halstatt three months ago. I’ve been booking Viator for 13 years now but sometimes get let down.

She was so knowledgeable and friendly, and she took us through the most scenic routes between each stop. We got to see the most charming towns, and we even made it to the castle just in time for a beautiful sunset. Highly recommend!

5.00What a wonderful day! We had the amazing Pauline as our guide/driver. She was super friendly, very knowledgeable and a great driver, navigating all the narrow roads with ease. Colmar was definitely my favourite stop, however the castle was impressive and we were lucky to have clear views as the sun was beginning to set. Highly recommend this tour. 5.00This was a great experience overall. A full day seeing Colmar, beautiful small villages and the castle. We are grateful to our tour guide who was a good and careful driver, a competent tour guide and a friendly person. We enjoyed this tour thanks to the valuable information and tips he provided about the places we have been to. I think getting to those places without a car is tricky and hearing the history and the stories behind the places as you are there is gives a complete understanding and experience. The exchange with the agency was also very professional, the information they provided throughout the process was extensive. We are very happy that we chose this tour and recommend to anyone who would like to see more of the beautiful Alsace region.
