What To Expect
This shore excursion is tailored to history lovers which takes you through the old capital 33 miles deep into the northern countryside of Belize. This area is rich with wildlife including armadillos, squirrels, agouti, paca, foxes, raccoons, bats, coatis and over two hundred species of birds. The Mayan ruin of “Altun Ha" is rich with Mayan history and architecture consisting of two plazas and thirteen buildings, of which you will be able to explore and learn about in sixty minutes of interactive discussion with your guide. Afterward, you will have time for souvenir shopping and lunch. Evidence of the Mayan at Altun Ha dates to 200 B.C. The first major temple was built around A.D. 100 near the principal reservoir, the area that we see now dates to the beginning of the Classic Period (A.D. 250). This was to be the central core of the site for some six centuries. The northern plaza (Plaza A) was the primary ceremonial precinct until close to the end of the Early Classic (around A.D. 550) then work started on Plaza B. As you drive through the old capital, you will be able to view historical landmarks and observe the daily lifestyle of the locals.

5.00You HAVE to book with Belize cruise trips anytime you are visiting. We went on a carnival cruise line and our separate excursion was so seamless and fun. Paul was our guide, and he truly felt like family by the end of the day. He was very knowledgeable and charismatic! From the Mayan Ruins to a home cooked meal in his neighborhood, Paul was amazing!!! 10/10 would visit this lovely country again.

1.00Wish I could leave zero stars. The people stopped responding to us the day of the excursion and did not pick us up. We were stranded . This is a SCAM. DO NOT BUY. As a party of 4, we were up by 445 AM to drive into the city to catch a water taxi for a hour and half ride to meet these FAKES by 8am for pick up. We have filed for a refund . I REPEAT .. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY

1.00If I could give this tour a -10 I would. We purchased the tour from the reviews and we’re left stranded at the pick up location. Viator, myself and the rest of my party could not reach the company number listed and we woke up at 5 am to take a 1.5 hour water taxi ride to the mainland to Belize city from San Pedro just to be 20 mins early at the meeting point at 8am. No one never reached out to confirm, no one called back the representatives. There was nothing done. Why have two options for the tours and not operate? Why take someone hard earned money and be scammed! Be aware that they will scam you and your other members out of the tour money and you will NOT be picked up. Avoid by all costs! I am still waiting for a refund.. that I’m not sure I will receive. What a way to welcome tourism to your country.
Wonderful experience seeing temples of a great civilization and walking to their summit.

5.00Wonderful opportunity to see intact Incan Temples, as well as being able to climb up to the top of two of them. Great view looking down at the Plaza from the tops, as well as looking over the canopy of the forest. Expert guide and his narration were excellent.
