There are trails through secondary forest, where you can see in his natural habitat a wide variety of plants and animals. What To Expect
La Fortuna de San Carlos
This is a Biological Reserve that develops conservation programs, training environmental education, sustainable use of the land and production. There are trails through secondary forest, where you can see in his natural habitat a wide variety of plants and animals, butterflies, alligators and iguanas, basilisks, two and three toed Sloths, the poisonous red frog, the red-eyed tree frog, and birds are easily observed on all tours. An educational trip where families with small children and teenagers will also find lots of fun and learn about nature conservation.

5.00Bring the off season, I was the only one on the tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and we saw tons of incredible critters from weird and unusual insects, to adorable frogs (including the red eyed) and some wonderful look snakes! If you are into learning about animals of all kinds, I highly recommend.

5.00This is located at Danaus EcoCentro. Used La Fortuna taxi via WhatsApp for transportation from Downtown Inn La Fortuna. It was less than 15 minute drive. Our guide Mayron assisted with taxi for return visit. Mayron met us at the entrance and guided us into the trail. It was dark and a bit unnerving initially following a stranger into the area. My husband and I were they only ones on the tour which turned out to be great benefit and our guide prefers only 2-6 people. There was only one other guide on the trail which we saw once. We were supplied with flashlights. Mayron was super knowledgeable and knew exactly what we were approaching just by the sounds. He took time to be sure we got great photos and we saw many frogs, spiders, lizards, birds, alligators, snakes (including a baby Fer-de-lance), and kikachoos. Highly recommended.
