Stop 1: Amish Farm When we arrive at the farm, we enter the barn to learn about the milking process firsthand. You may be surprised to learn that the Amish do not milk cows by hand. You will also discover how milk is kept cold in the bulk tank with “Amish electricity.” Other aspects of farm life may also be included. Stop 2: Amish “Cottage Industry” With the price and scarcity of farmland, many Amish have started their own small enterprises, making everything from gazebos and furniture to farm equipment and quilts. These “home businesses” have become the subject of books and articles emphasizing the balance these entrepreneurs achieve between work and family. Our visit may be to a harness or carriage maker, basket weaver, greenhouse, leather or wood worker, among others. An actual demonstration is normally a part of this fascinating stop. Stop 3: Amish Home Visit To conclude our evening, we travel scenic backroads to a distant farm in the countryside. As we step inside the house, we find that friendly conversation awaits as we sit, chat, and visit the way the Amish do, talking informally without TVs, IPhones or computers. It comes as no surprise that strangers soon become friends.

We went on the VIP Amish Experience. We visited 3 homes. It was a phenomenal experience. Beth our tour guide was fantastic and SO knowledgeable. The last stop was with Isaac and Sarah, we will never forget visiting with them. They were so kind and friendly. We will definitely do this again and request Beth.

Would absolutely recommend this tour. You’re not only visiting a dairy farmer, you’re also visiting with the Amish dairy farmer and learning about his business. Same with a leather products artisan. The best experience was visiting with an Amish couple in their home and learning from them about their life, their work, and their family! Well worth it!!!! Our tour guide Beth was very knowledgeable and explained everything very well!

Very much enjoyed our tour and would recommend it. Our guide, Kent, was very knowledgeable of the Amish and provided great narrative during the tour. We visited a farm where goats are milked and had the opportunity to watch and to purchase soap and other crafts. Visited a carriage shop and learned how the buggies are made. It was a very informative stop. Last we stopped at a home where the Amish family makes wood playgrounds and we sat and visited in their home. Each family was very welcoming and interactive. It was a very enjoyable evening.

What a wonderful tour, we learned so much. Loved meeting real Amish people and asking lots of questions. Thanks to the Amish folks for their openness. So unique to see how differently some groups choose to live. Loved it!

This was the highlight of our trip so far! We thoroughly enjoyed our guide, Jim, who was so knowledgeable of the Amish and obviously a great friend to them, which helped us better understand and respect the Amish way of life. It was very interesting and exciting to actually meet people and learn about their businesses (dairy farming and harness making) and especially to have to relaxing time to sit in the home of a lovely Amish family and get to know them through conversation.

We loved this tour. We had another Amish tour with a different company previous to this and were thinking. "Why did we book two Amish tours?" However, we are glad we did. Our guide, Joe, was much more informative and accurate with his information than the previous guide. The three locations gave a full experience and each of the people with whom we had conversations added a new component to our understanding and a richness to the experience. Thank you.

The tour guide Beth was very knowledgeable about the Amish and made it very interesting. The three stops were all insights into the Amish culture. I learned so much more than I would’ve just driving around and going to the shops.

Absolutely amazing. Fulfilled all I wanted from the tour. Meeting Sam and his family included milk a goat chatting openly to the family and understanding how they live. Stephen at the harness making business was also very interesting. Finding out how Amish run businesses. Then entering the home and meeting a family on the last stop off. We were made to feel very welcome. Our driver and your guide was also amazing. We respected you don't take photos of the families.
