Our guide was so knowledgeable and he wasn't rushed. He brought a notebook with pictures to help us see what the areas that we were walking through looked like back before and during and after the war. He told the story of the Jewish people with dignity and truth. We stopped about 1/2 way at a wonderful little Cafe and had some coffee and cake. A nice little stop to reat a bit and ask questions. Outstanding guide!

Loved everything about this tour, Ben has incredible knowledge which he shared throughout the tour in an engaging way. The supporting photographs were a bonus. Communication received confirming the tour (meeting point, starting time and guide) was excellent. I recommend starting your Amsterdam holiday with this tour and then follow up with a visit to the Holocaust Museum, Resistance Museum and Anne Frank House.

This is an outstanding walking tour of Amsterdam during WW II. Our guide, Peter Schaapman is an excellent guide, He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspect of Amsterdam during WW II and to make the tour even more enjoyable he punctuated his narration with WW II pictures of locations we were currently at. This made the experience even more realistic. His English was great and thus made it easily to understand him. The pace of the tour was perfect. We did not feel rushed and the group size is limited to make it more intimate. Because of my interest in history and WW II he sent to my wife and me a PDF of his thesis "The Rescue of Jews in 1943". He also sent some recommandations for books dealing with WW II. He requests an advance reservation fora tour since his tours are limited. My wife and I strongly recommend this exceptional tour.

We walked with Peter. He was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts that I had not known before. He supplemented the tour with historical photos of the sites we saw. It was interesting to see the differences and similarities between then and now. At the end of the walk he provided us with copies of the photos he used during the tour along with additional information. This was an outstanding walk and we highly recommend it.

We did the Anne Frank Guided Walking Tour through Amsterdam's Jewish Quarter for 2 hours and the Amsterdam in World War II Tour for 3 1/2 hours thinking that one would be more about Amsterdam's Jewish Quarter and the other about World War II. It turned out that both were very similar. I had learned about Anne Frank and her family many years ago, but had forgotten about the global impact that Anne Frank continues to make. The biggest difference between the two tours was the difference in length. The guide of the World War II Tour was older and more knowledgeable answering any and all questions posed by our small group of four. The Jewish Quarter Tour was much larger - about a dozen folks and shorter as noted above. I would highly recommend both tours.

We did this tour on a cold, rainy day in February with Peter and had almost canceled because of this. We were so glad we didn't. Peter was a wealth of knowledge regarding Amsterdam and WWII. He pointed out so many things that we would not have noticed or understood on our own. He was very well prepared and organized, even bringing handouts for us to take home with us. He also answered all of our present-day questions about what it is like to live in Amsterdam. He is a lover of history and his enthusiasm is contagious. Great tour!

We enjoyed the small tour (4-person maximum). Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs. The historical information was great - inspired me to do more research when I get home.
