Zaanse Schans
Your first stop is the world-famous Zaanse Schans, a living museum that brings 18th- and 19th-century Holland to life. Stroll past charming green wooden houses, cross quaint bridges, and take in the peaceful canalside scenery. You’ll see operating windmills, some of which still produce oil, paint, or spices. You’ll also have free time to explore local workshops and boutiques selling Dutch specialties like stroopwafels, souvenirs, and handmade crafts. Don’t forget your camera — this is one of the most photogenic places in the Netherlands, with panoramic views of windmills set against the water and fields.
Zaandam

We have never had a bad experience with Viator/Get Your Guide. They are always on time, right where they say they will meet you (but be sure ahead of time that you know where that is!), and on schedule for return trip. Their guides have always been very knowledgeable and entertaining. We highly recommend them! The 3 places we went on this tour were just as advertised. We enjoyed the cheese making lesson and really loved Volendam, fishing village. Be sure to get a plate of whatever seafood you choose (can mix & match—I got a mix of fried shrimp and fried fish bites) at the seafood truck on the harbor promenade. Take some time to stroll along the water.

Short and sweet itinerary to cover the highlights of Amsterdam outskirts within half day. Windmills, cheese and fishing village all together yet there is enough time to explore each at comfortable pace.

AMAZING afternoon trip!!! The bus driver was attentive and very nice! The audio part of the tour was informative and the right amount of time without getting boring! Very good deal for the process you pay. Three stops and it took us 5-5.5 hours for the entirety. Not too far away from Amsterdam, but how could you come here without seeing windmills and tasting cheese???

A fun day out with plenty of time at each stop to experience the local sites. The driver was excellent, drove us all safely and had a friendly personality and made sure we were all safe. The windmills were a highlight and dining at the harbour Volendam was a joy.
