This unique Alaskan experience is the only one of its kind offered in the Anchorage area. Get out and enjoy the beauty of Alaska! On a clear day we'll see as many as four mountain ranges in Southcentral Alaska, We'll spend our time on a small frozen lake in the Anchorage area. Using the latest electric ice auger, guests can help drill through anywhere between 6 inches to 3 feet thick ice. At times we'll see fish swimming below, either while looking through an 8-inch hole in the ice, or using technology to watch fish move below on sonar images on a depth finder. At times we may fish with jigs or spoons, at other times, hooks, bait and a bobber. We'll often see moose in the woods around town or at the edge of the lake. Bald eagles often watch from the trees nearby, looking for a free meal. Relax and enjoy the fishing, we'll take care of all the messy work and heavy lifting - except perhaps lifting the heaviest fish of the day from the water!

People of all ages are welcome, but child or infant car seats are not provided. If your small person will be coming along, please be prepared with a car seat to keep them safe during the drive.
We'll contact you the day prior to your trip to confirm your exact pickup time
Guests will need to be able to walk across uneven, snowy or icy surfaces. Ice cleats will be provided when necessary to keep you safe if the ice is slick. To the extent possible, we're happy to provide assistance as necessary to make this trip accessible to everyone!

What To Expect
On this half-day guided ice fishing trip, we'll pick your party up at your hotel in the Anchorage area and take you to one of several great fishing spots nearby. We use an insulated, heated and lighted ice fishing tent to keep warm and dry. We'll provide all the fishing gear you'll need to catch a variety of freshwater fish. You can expect to catch rainbow trout, landlocked salmon, arctic char and dolly varden in the range of 12" to 26" in length. We will give you hands on instruction on how to ice fish. Whether it's your first time or you're a seasoned pro, we will get you on fish. We'll be on the ice for between 3 and a half and 4 hours, and return your group to the pickup location when we're done.

5.00It was cozy, relaxing, Ryan is absolutely amazing. Ryan was very polite, knowledgeable about fishes how to catch them. My husband and I had a blast. My husband stated he really enjoyed this because I was so excited and caught many fishes. Ryan continued to make sure the fish kept bitting. He did not want us not to leave without having a great time at fishing. We will most definitely be back to fishing, snow mobile, and whatever else he guides. He’s just that kind of person you want to hang out with.

5.00This was one of the best tours our family has ever taken. Ryan is amazing and he more than exceeded our expectations. Above and beyond what we thought we would experience on our first ever ice fishing experience. Outstanding adventure and we talked about it all day. The fishing, conversation and laughs will be a memory that we can share forever. Would definitely take this tour again if we were to come back to Anchorage. My boys absolutely enjoyed themselves. 5.00We had a great time out on the ice with Ryan. It was neat to see the whole ice fishing process from set up (only took about 15 minutes to pop the tent up, put in the heater etc) to getting to drill the holes. We caught lots of fish in the comfort of the heated tent. Ryan was full of fun Alaskan and fish facts. The eagles watching us from the trees was an added bonus. Would definitely do again !

5.00Honestly, Ryan was amazing! Incredibly knowledgeable, hard working, and knew right where the fish were! He really made our morning what it was. Loved his knowledge of ice fishing, but also the area in general. He was incredibly easy to talk to, and he really took care of us. We didn’t lift a finger all day unless it was to reel in the fish! He was constantly on his feet baiting our hooks and trying out different things to make sure we caught all the fish we wanted. We were warm as could be in the tent, the heater worked perfectly. He picked us up at our hotel and was right on time, and dropped us back off when we were done. We will definitely call Ryan if we find ourselves back in Alaska!

5.00Perfect outdoor experience for our introduction to Alaska! We did not rent a car so having the option of being picked up was perfect. Ryan was amazing - we learned so much about Anchorage and the Alaskan wilderness. He was patient with us - and my husband finally caught his first fish! Drive is not far from the city and the bonus was having a bald eagle watching and waiting and hoping for a fish from us 😀. Biggest bonus? Seeing a moose and Ryan stopped the van to let us observe (inside, of course) for a bit. A must do experience!!

5.00Ryan is an incredibly kind and patient guide who walks you through all the details of ice fishing, step by step. He shows you how to dig the hole, use the monitor to estimate the number of fish below, handle the fishing rod, and identify the perfect moment to lift it and reel in the line. These basic processes are explained in a way that’s beginner-friendly, making it a great experience for anyone new to fishing. Ice fishing is so much fun, and I learned a lot about fishing during this adventure. It was truly a fantastic experience during my winter trip to Alaska!
