Olympia
Olympia, a sanctuary of ancient Greece in Elis on the Peloponnese peninsula, is known for hosting the Olympic Games in classical times. Join us in reliving the wonder and thrill of the original Olympic Games, which were held from 776 BC. to 393 AD. as you explore the ruins of the great monuments. Enter the famous archaeological site of Olympia and marvel at the Temple of Hera, in front of which burns the Olympic Flame during modern day Olympic Games. See the Temple of Zeus, which once housed the Golden and Ivory statue of Zeus (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World) and the original Stadium and Bouleuterion, monuments unlike any other, where once competitors swore an oath to conform to the rules. We stay at Ancient Olympia 3 hours when you can visit the Archeological Sites and the modern village of Olympia for shopping, souvenirs, lunch and snacks.

This turned out to be a great experience...so much more than just a bus ride! We were not expecting any kind of travel or history information and we got lots of both from our guide. She also led us right to the ticket booth and was so informative! I would totally recommend this if all you really want to do is go to Olympia and walk around for a couple of hours!

Great bus ride from the port and easy to find! The guide from Grekaland tells you facts along the ride and up until you are ready to buy a ticket into the site!

This tour was a great way to learn about Olympia. The archeological museum was amazing. The restaurants by the port are wonderful and a great way to wrap your day up in Olympia.

The transportation was well organised and we were given enough time to explore Olympia and the museum. Be aware this is not a guided tour.
