This is Vancouver’s only ancient big tree tour. Within walking distance from downtown Vancouver you will be guided by well known big tree seeker Colin Spratt through Vancouver’s last ancient forest located in historic Stanley Park. The tour lasts around 3 hours and in that period of time you will visit Canada’s largest maple tree, 1000 year old cedars, massive firs, and you will also learn about the history of the park and the history of the original coast Salish people who called the park home. We will walk various trails in the park and see the most impressive giants still standing. Some of these giants are hidden unless you know where to look. Using old maps, postcards over a hundred years old, and photos from Vancouver’s archive, we piece together the history of the ancient forest and the urban environment. This is a completely unique chance to experience the last remaining part of Vancouver's now lost original forested landscape.

The ancient trees of Stanley Park were mind blowing - as was the tour guide. He was truly amazing - entertaining, educational, passionate about everything related to trees and Vancouver. This tour was the highlight of our time in Alaska and Vancouver.

Some of the most awe inspiring trees in North America! Jaw dropping. Located mostly on Lovers Lane in Stanley Park, it is a magical experience to walk amongst them.

Very rewarding walk through Stanley Park with Colin. He shared the history of the pack, the City if Vancouver and the first peoples of the area. He showed us some amazing ancient trees on easy walking trails. His passion was visible on every one of his stories.

Colin is passionate, personable and extremely knowledgeable. The trees are simply amazing, the trails beautiful and the nature awe-inspiring. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves nature - despite being in Stanley Park, one of Vancouver’s most popular tourist attractions, Colin walks you through a more remote part of the park that showcases the ancient old growth forest that lies next to a dynamic urban center.
