This is the best activity you can do in the afternoon in Antigua. This tour will take you to 3 mountain tops with incredible views of the city, valley, and volcanoes near and around Antigua. Our first stop is ¨El Cerro de la Cruz ¨ Antigua’s famous lookout point known as ¨The Cross¨. After getting a close-up aerial view of the colonial city, we hop back on the vehicles and head up the El Hato Mountain towards our Second stop. We arrive at our parking lot in El Hato where we hop into our 4*4 pick-up truck which takes us to the ¨HOBBITENANGO¨.
This is a lord of the rings themed Eco-Park where we catch the Sunset and are able to enjoy some food, drinks, and games. Here we will go up the hill and sightsee, enjoy great views and various activities in this enchanted little forest. Once, finished we will head back down the mountain where if you are hungry we can grab some food and drinks at a Guatemalan restaurant located on the side of the mountain called El Tambor.

Incredible experience!! The whole excursion was about 5 hours long. Our tour guide, Eric was so knowledgeable and helped ensure everyone was safe and had a great time. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an adventure outside of the main town of Antigua.

This Tour has nothing to do with sunset. We spent one hour and 45 minutes at the hobbit attraction which was about an hour and 15 minutes too long. The entire group was at the exit ready to go with and hour left. I would assume on a sunset tour there would be a stop to take pictures of the sunset. But there wasnt even a mention of sunset. There was also no stop halfway down the mountain for an optional food and beverage as the description says. The tour guide was completely unengaged. A big part of why I selected this tour was because with a knee issue, an ATV tour seemed like a great way to see things with limited walking/hiking. There was a ton of hills and steps. It would have been good to have an accurate description to make a good choice for our group.

Our tour from Antigua was absolutely unforgettable! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized through Simoon Tours, and our guide Erík from Antigua made the entire experience exceptional. One of the biggest highlights was our stop at Hobbitenango — it was absolutely amazing. The views were breathtaking, the atmosphere was magical, and it truly felt like stepping into another world. Even though the weather was cloudy and we didn’t get to see the sunset, the experience itself was still incredible and completely worth it. Erík was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely taken care of the whole time. He shared great information about Antigua and the surrounding areas, kept the energy fun and relaxed, and truly went above and beyond to make the evening special. The entire experience felt seamless thanks to the excellent planning and hospitality from the Simoon Tours team. You can tell they genuinely care about giving guests an amazing experience. If you’re visiting Antigua, do yourself a favor and book with Simoon Tours — especially if you can get Erík as your guide! Highly recommend. Five stars all the way!

The guide Gio was amazing! The woman at the front desk however was quite rude. Out of nowhere she asked me if I’m pregnant. It was quite inappropriate. Gio took us to Cerro de la Cruz and Hobbitenango and we had a wonderful day! Highly recommend.

The first stop at the viewpoint is lovely and worth the trip. The second stop was reached by van and was a little disappointing. It was cloudy but not a great place to visit anyway…but worth it for the ‘hand’ photo. The ATVs were fun, the guide excellent, and the food at the dinner stop lovely

SO AMAZING Everything was taken care of, every little detail - even when we parked the ATVs, we would park them slightly messy and facing in so we would have had to back out, but someone came and reparked every single one at both stops so they were neat and we could pull right out. Our guide was awesome and all the staff were wonderful, absolutely recommend!
