Catacombs are sacred and maintain a constant temperature of around 15°C (59°F) with high humidity. Please dress accordingly This tour involves some uneven paths, cobblestone streets and ancient Roman basalt paving. Catacombs are not wheelchair accessible and are not recommended for individuals with serious walking problems, claustrophobia, or difficulty climbing stairs. The tour involves descending and ascending approximately 50 irregular steps.

5.00Gian Marco is a great guide to have on your tour. He really explained in great depth the history and influence of the Appian way in Rome history. He led us to very good experiences and the highlight was the visit to a fully seen circus unlike in Rome that you have to imagine.

5.00The tour was a great experience. Francesco was friendly and knowledgeable. He was able share a broad range of history with passion. He made the trip so much more memorable. I thought the highlight would be the catacombs but I’m not sure which was the best. The gate and wall, walking on the Appian Way, the catacombs were all interesting. Francesco F. was the best. He even took time over the next couple days to share some additional interesting locations and walking routes along with restaurant suggestions. Every idea he had was a hit. It was like having a guide customize an itinerary just for us.

5.00Amazing tour saw so many additional sites then just the catacombs and the Appian way. The Roman wall was so much larger than I expected. Our guide Francesco F was so knowledgeable and went above and beyond to answer all our questions. He even provided a detailed walking tour guide of further sites to see after our tour. One of the best tours we have been on. Highly recommended!

5.00Excellent tour. Francesco arrived early but we were ready so we got a jump. He stopped several times at bonus spots along the way. Golf cart was the way to go. The cobblestones were a bit bumpy but we could stop in some places a car or bus couldn’t. The catacombs part of the tour was quick but I’m not sure what else we could have seen. It was interesting to see and the guide did a good job explaining things and keeping people comfortable. If you’re claustrophobic, probably not for you. We had a small group of 6 people but sometimes they take 50 per group which would make it feel really small. To be clear, this is at the catacombs, not the rest of the tour. Everything else was private. The wall of Rome might have been the highlight of the tour. It’s in amazing condition and not busy. Although we’re here the end of January so nothing is busy. At the end, Francesco gave us some great suggestions of places to visit and walking routes to see stuff. A+ for him.

I was especially impressed by his deep knowledge of the city and his thoughtful, engaging commentary at every stop. The comfort of the private golf cart made the day even more enjoyable, allowing us to cover more ground without feeling rushed.
