Arashiyama

This itinerary offers a refined cultural journey through Arashiyama, Kyoto, combining nature, tradition, and iconic local experiences. Guests will enjoy a scenic river boat cruise while watching a maiko (apprentice geisha) perform traditional shamisen music on board. The experience continues with a visit to the historic Tenryu-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its beautiful Zen garden. You will also stroll through the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, and complete the journey with a ride on the nostalgic Sagano Scenic Railway, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and river valleys.

Hozukyo Gorge

Depart from Arashiyama Tsusen South Pier A traditional-style boat guided by a boatman using a bamboo pole will travel upstream along the Oi River for 1 km.From the entrance of the gorge, the boat will slowly drift back downstream to the original boarding point on a scenic journey. Enjoy a private boat cruise immersed in Kyoto’s geisha culture.Listen live performances of the traditional Japanese instrument, the shamisen.
