Sanqianyuan is located in Ohara, Luobei, Kyoto. It is one of the three temples of Tiantai Sect. Sanzen-in's vast temple has towering old trees, moss everywhere, gurgling streams, cherry blossoms in April, azaleas in May, hydrangea in July, and red leaves in autumn. The natural scenery is pleasing to the eye all year round. The two ponds designed by Kanamori Munakazu The spring-style gardens - "Jubi Garden" and "Youqing Garden" are the best places to enjoy the scenery of Sanqianyuan in all four seasons. The main wooden statue of Amitabha Buddha in the temple and the attendant statues on both sides are national important cultural properties. Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
Sagano Bamboo Forest is located in Arashiyama. The bamboo forest trail is about 500 meters long. You can reach the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest by walking through Nonomiya Shrine and towards Okouchi Villa. Walking through the bamboo forest, you can hear the natural sound of the wind blowing through the bamboo leaves. This sound has also been rated as one of Japan's 100 most worthy of preservation. This is also the place where Ang Lee filmed "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." The Tenryuji Temple in the trail has a very beautiful Japanese garden. During the Arashiyama Lantern Festival every December, the bamboo forest and Togetsukyo Bridge are illuminated with dazzling lights, which is a unique sight in winter
