What To Expect
Start your exciting Rovaniemi day tour with the reindeer farm, if there is sufficient snow you will have chance to enjoy the reindeer sleigh ride. Moreover, your tour guide will bring you to the husky farm, if the weather is cool enough, you get to experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride the husky sledge. You will then be transferred to Ranua Wildlife Park. It is here that you meet more than 50 species of arctic animals. A walk in the nature-like Ranua is so refreshing. Also, you get to savour the traditional Lappish buffet lunch at the Ranua Zoo. *Departure time may vary. Please check the email the local provider sends for the exact pick-up time.

5.00My all time favorite activity meeting the sleigh dogs and going on the ride. My 5 year old to our 77 year old parents all loved the ride in the woods. Then heading over to the reindeer self-driving sled. Sich a chill laid back drive i could have just closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment. I would have liked another hour at the zoo but I am the type that reads all the signs. The zoo was very well done with tons of animal enrichment in all the exhibits.

5.00I didn’t expect much of the zoo but it was one of the highlights! I was able to see wolves and other animals I didn’t expect to see. Collection of owls were amazing. Husky ride was interesting too. I didn’t expect dogs to be so excited to run

3.00we were never took to the observation point (reason unknown - nobody told us why. Husky and reindeer farms very rushed, didnt get much of a talk or greet with the huskies or reindeers, was just there for the quick rides of both. I thought there would have been more interaction with both. Hardly saw any animals at the zoo (know this isnt fault of the experience) was an hour drive from the reindeer farm to zoo, so only got a couple hours there so didnt have the time to get round it all. expressed concerns to viator. No response, will not be using viator or recomending this excursion

3.00Great communication as we had to pay an extra €160 to pick us up as staying a little further away than most, on top of the €600 for the day Huskeys. 2 minutes max in a circle. Get as many people through as fast as they can. Not great. Reindeer. Much better and more relaxed. 5 minute ride Then an hours drive to the zoo Most of the decent animals aren’t there during the winter so mainly, birds, then deer, fox, wolves. Little shop to spend money in. Best bit was the chocolate shop for us Then an hours ride back to the drop off point. No walk to take in the views as advertised. Kind of glad as we just wanted it to be over. Very long day, lots of travelling, don’t think it was worth the money if I’m being honest. Gave us something to do I guess but wouldn’t do it again if we ever go back.

1.00I was totally disappointed with the trip as the tour guide didn’t pick us at hotel. The tour guide who claimed waited for us ten minutes and left the hotel reception. When I called the Nordic Unique Travel company and the staff said the tour guide couldn’t return to pick us due to the tour would start without any delay. So I complained to the agent staff and asked for refund because of not my fault and the guide shouldn’t leave us unattended and left. Indeed, I was also joined another trip of aurora hunting with husky ride by Nordic Unique Travel and the tour guide was late for an hour to pick us at hotel reception.Also, complains was made by other travelers of the same tour. I felt ridiculous about the travel company arrangement and the tour guide attitude. I would strongly ask for refund for the arctic animal day trip. I was so disappointed with this horrible experience and ruined our holiday memories.. I would say I will never join the tour operate by Nordic Unique Travel company again. As the booking platform, I hope Viator could liaise with the Nordic Unique Travel company for my refund. Thank you.
