What To Expect
Ranua Zoo
Enjoy a comfortable ride from pick up at your given address in Rovaniemi to Ranua Wildlife Park Resort, located at Southeast and about an hour to drive for 80km. After arrived, basic introduction about the Zoo & map instruction will be given by the guide before you start own exploration into the Zoo, where 2 to 2.5km hiking trail in the Arctic forests as well as clear explanations on each animal in English from smaller ones to bigger animals(Polar bear, Wolf, Wild reindeers and so much more!). Besides, Fazer Chocolate Shop is one of the highlights there as it offers wide range of collections at affordable prices. We start return from Ranua to Rovaniemi at 14:00. Kindly note: total of 5.5h. 09:30-15:00 -2h freely visit on your own in the Zoo. -1h lunch buffet in the Zoo restaurant. -2 to 2.5h drive & back. Tervetuloa!

5.00The site and trails are well equipped. The diversity of flora and fauna is well appreciated. It’s a walk in the forest that’s worth a visit! Our guide, Jade, was very kind and professional.

5.00Rafi was a great driver and guide , professional and knowledgeable, long drive from Rovaniemi about an hour but truely worth it, middle of winter but had a great time , well marked one direction track around Zoo approx 3 km able to see a lot of arctic animals , including moose, wolverine, musk ox and best of all polar bears all out enjoying the cold even could see arctic fox, lunch was a very tasty modest buffet, highly recommend this tour

5.00It was an amazing experience. Had the opportunity to see the Polar Bear, Dhole, Mousse etc,. The weather was very supportive and class. My special thanks to Mr Alejandro, who made this trip very memorable and very very cooperative. Overall it was an awesome experience

4.00A great day out, however it is a visit to Ranua Zoo and not a “polar bear adventure “. The zoo do have 1 polar bear which we were fortunate to see, however due to the weather, many of the other animals were not able to be seen. Our tour guide, Jade was lovely and the transport to and from the zoo was comfortable.

3.00Nice outdoor zoo, small and a nice walk through the woods during the tour is a bonus. Dress warm, it’s cold and all outdoors.

5.00We were a small group, the guide answered all questions. In the zoo itself we were able to take enough time to look at the animals. The food together was also quite nice. It was a great trip.

1.00Really poorly advertised. I booked this as an ‘extra treat’ for my other half’s 50th birthday trip. Highly disappointed with whole excursion & quite frankly ripped off with the price. Not what I was expecting at all, we didn’t even see a polar bear. Unaware it would be a ‘zoo’, most other animals were also not to be seen. Lunch was also a shambles, very limited offering & the food was not enjoyable - myself and my other half both went hungry. For context, we are easygoing people & we booked another excursion through aviator which exceeded expectations on every single level. The value for what I paid was nowhere near worth the experience, transport or food.

5.00Giuseppe Lupis was an amazing tour guide! We were able to explore the zoo without any stress. He was very informative and extremely kind. We even paused to get a few pics of the beautiful sky on the way back from the zoo. He went above and beyond anyone that gets him as a tour guide would be very lucky
