Originally built in the late 19th century to transport iron ore from Kiruna’s mines to Narvik’s ice-free port, this railway played a crucial role during World War II, particularly in the Battle of Narvik. Today, the Ofoten Line is both a vital transport route and a breathtaking tourist attraction.

First, it was well organized. We had no trouble getting there. Boarding ran smoothly. The reason for my rating is there really wasn't much to see. The two stops were not impressive at all. You saw some mountains in the distance and some water but you can see that from anywhere. To me, it was a waste of time.

Very impressive ride with great scenery. Nice train escort. Announcements entirely in German. Much learned about the "German past" with and off the railway.

Be sure you sit on the left side of train - that is where is all the views are! And bring some snacks - there is not food on-board.

Sold Arctic Train tickets as trip out of Bodo. Train goes nowhere near Bodo. Nearest station in Narvik, 6 hours to the north of Bodo. Obviously, we were unable to join the train. Viator refused refund with no explanation or apology. Tour operator denied responsibility and blamed reseller Viator. Have stopped payment on my card. Looks like obvious scam to me. Very disappointed.

Beautiful scenery with very friendly helpful staff. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget. They say sit on the left as that is the best view, don’t worry if you aren’t seated on the left because the train crew ask people to swap over so you get a view going or returning. We travelled with parents and family and this trip appealed to all ages. Fantastic value for money.
