Join a Masada and Dead Sea tour from Ashdod Port when your cruise ship docks in the Holy Land. This Masada and the Dead Sea tour is geared towards cruise passengers arriving at Ashdod cruise port. The ship-to-shore tour is offered whenever a cruise ship docks in Ashdod. The Masada and Dead Sea tour starts when you disembark from your cruise ship and meet your guide who will be waiting for you. Enjoy the drive south through the desert landscape in a well-maintained vehicle with A/C. The first stop is at Masada where you’ll take a cable car to the plateau summit and tour Herod’s hilltop fortress. Spend time in the Masada Museum and see an audiovisual presentation about Masada’s history. Then the tour takes you to Ein Bokek beach on the shore of the Dead Sea. Enjoy some lunch and dip into the salty Dead Sea. You’ll have free time on this unique Dead Sea beach before we head back to Ashdod so you can rejoin the cruise ship for your onward journey.

Masada National Park
Masada, a massive rock outcrop 434m-high (1,424ft). Ride the cable car to Masada’s flat summit where there are incredible views of the desert and the Dead Sea below. Your guide will give you a tour of the remaining structures from King Herod’s palace-fortress. Find out about the history of Masada, and how it served as an untouchable refuge for Herod and later for Jewish rebels. Learn how King Herod built this palace complex in 37BC-31BC, and see mosaics and archaeological remains of a Roman bathhouse, storerooms, guardhouse, palaces, and more. At the end of the Masada tour, you can spend time in the Masada Museum located at the foot of the mount. The museum holds more than 500 artifacts discovered at Masada, and there is an informative movie about Masada’s history.
Ein Bokek Beach
We continue from Masada to Ein Bokek, a hotel and resort area on the shore of the Dead Sea. Here you can enjoy the Ein Bokek beach

Our tour guide was great. Dead sea was exciting. Masada was fantastic! Amazing how history unfolded for these poor Jews back in the day.

Dima is a funny guy with a lot of knowledge about the area. He wouldn't leave anyone behind. Very good experience. I recommend this excursion and it was way cheaper compared to the cruise excursions

The trip was super well arranged. We did this trip from our cruise terminal. Here the bus was waiting and waited very neatly until the last Cruise Customer was present. Because of this we left a bit later but is therefore reliable for booking this excursion. There was also contact in advance via the whats app to Let them know they're expecting us. So direct contact was possible, if necessary on the day of departure of the excursion. We had Eli as a guide, and did a great job. Friendly and competent guide who could tell nicely. After he knew it was our son's birthday, he started singing to him and made a connection with him every time during the trip. This made him feel special this day. The excursion was tough. The 4 stars are therefore because of the temperature. It was so hot/hot, 45 degrees, that visiting the Moshad and sweat was a trip up, and floating in the dead sea was a cooking momemt. There was nothing the organization could do about this, of course. But because of this it is spicy and you have to make a conscious choice whether you book this trip above 40 degrees. Incidentally, it is doable, but be well prepared. Rub and drink well with water and clothing against heat and footwear to walk on the sand and in the sea. By the way, you're in a great air conditioning bus. So the cooling in between is very welcome.

Masada and the Dead Sea were breathtaking. Tour guide was very passionate about the historical aspects of both, which makes a world of difference when it comes to teaching history on the top of a mountain 40c (105f) degree heat. Was more physically demanding than what I expected, but would have been fine if I brought more sunscreen and water. Would recommend.

The Dead Sea is a must do in Israel. Masada is rich in history but be prepared for a hike in the heat. Our guide and driver were amazing. We were an hour late due to ship and immigration issues but they waited for us. On the way back to our stop they took us the back way so we could get a different view. Highly recommend!!

We had looked forward to this particular tour forever but try as we might, it just wasn’t to be. Freak thunderstorms near Jerusalem caused flooding. Some of the roads were washout and there were sink holes reported. Our wonderful, knowledgeable guide, Eli Yaal, tried numerous times and ways to get us there. We made it as far as 6 miles away from the Dead Sea on our way to Masada. We could see the Dead Sea but that was as close as we were going to get. The police turned everyone around so Eli took us to Mamshit. It was an amazing archeological site and he was very knowledgeable about it. It was a super interesting tour there. Eli took us Be’er Sheera for lunch and a city walking tour. 99.9 percent of us loved the tour and Eli and we all totally understood why we couldn’t get to Masada or the Dead Sea. We did, unfortunately, have one woman who threw a fit from the moment she found out we couldn’t get there. She almost caused an altercation on the bus returning back to the shuttle to the ship. It is sad when people expect the unattainable. Eli handles everything professionally and the majority of us appreciated his efforts. He is well worth touring with again! Good job, Eli!
