This is a truly Highlight-Experience: if you live in a big city then you will be amazed by the Southern Hemisphere Milky Way in it’s splendor. Imagine counting up to 6.000 naked-eye visible stars instead of the 30 that you may see in the urban light polluted sky – it is a big WOW!!!
We will go through the beauties of the night sky – looking for planets, stars, shooting stars, satellites, constellations and galaxies. We may elaborate on life outside Earth – based on Science and Philosophy, including the Fermi Paradox.
“Selfie-of-the-Stars”: an unforgettable picture of the group with the stars in the background taken with state-of-the-art photographic equipment will be handed over with resolution for social media usage (digital file).
Note: tours available from Last Quarter through First Quarter including New Moon phases, meteorology depended activity.

What To Expect
This is a great opportunity to look at the night sky with the milky way in its splendor in a dark sky with almost no light pollution (Bortle Class 1-2), a totally immersive and fascinating experience. It’s a must-see for people having an urban life - where starry skies no longer exist due to light pollution. No hiking is required (the stars are too far away). Cambara do Sul city is the base of this outdoor activity – located ca 200km from the nearest international airport in Porto Alegre/South Brazil. Activities: -Sunset phases, observing the dynamics of light; -Identification in the night sky of planets, stars, shooting stars, satellites, constellations and galaxies (using a high-power laser pointer); -Navigation using stars; -Light pollution and its effects; -Human and extraterrestrial life, the Fermi Paradox; -Preparation/registration of the “Selfie-of-the-Stars”; -Naked eye sky observation (no telescopes are used); -Duration: 4h (typically 17:00-21:00h, Winter 16:30-20:30h/Summer 18:00-22:00h). -Minimum age: 16 years old

5.00It was a very good astronomical experience with Egon. He is, besides, a great photographer, an exceptional star guide, given his superior knowledge of astronomy. We were able to see a Chinese space station, besides seeing Mars and mercury, lucky day! We were also able to identify constellations and stars in the sky. Egon also has blankets, considering the low temperatures, especially for someone, like me, who is not used to the cold. About the photographs of the stars: The photographer has advanced equipment and knowledge, which allows the photograph to be quick and spontaneous. That said, highly recommended experience!

5.00My wife and I took part in the astronomy tour in Cambara do Sul last week with the guide Egon. The night star tour was a magical experience that far exceeded our expectations. Under a sky full of sparkling stars, we were able to discover the secrets of the universe in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Egon has explained astrological relationships and theories very well and understandably using some examples with great enthusiasm. This made the whole tour not only informative but also incredibly exciting. In addition, Egon took beautiful photos of us, both during sunset and under the starry sky. These memories are a very special bonus for us and make the tour even more memorable. This tour is an absolute must for anyone who is passionate about astronomy or simply wants to spend an unforgettable evening under the stars. We thank Egon very much and can recommend this tour without restriction!!!

5.00We had an entertaining and wonderful evening. Egon has not only explained a lot about the stars - but also about the nature and the special features of this region. Also valuable are the photographic tips that Egon likes to give! The advice from him regarding clothes should be followed - it gets really cold there. At this point again a big thank you to Egon for the tea and the extra blankets! I will definitely think about the experience often and gladly and the professional photos you get are just great. Highly recommended!

5.00Incredible experience with contemplation of the sunset and a wonderful starry sky, with right to several falling stars (meteors) and amazing photos! The best of Cambará! Guide Egon, with his incredible storytelling, shared an extraordinary range of knowledge. From facts and curiosities about the culture and nature gaúcha, as much as about the Earth, stars and the universe. In addition, it is important to also mention his affection and care for people. Even making it clear to prepare for the cold, which is indeed quite intense, still provided some blankets and blankets for those who still needed more thermal comfort. In short, excellent walk, great experience! Super recommend!
