Beginning at Syntagma Square in the heart of the city, you will first visit the iconic monument, the 'Tomb of the Unknown Soldier', which is guarded by the famous Evzone soldiers. Here you will see the 'changing of the guards' ceremony that takes place every day at the top of the hour.
You will then make your way to 'Hadrian's Arch', a monumental gateway before stopping at the grandiose ruined 'Temple of Zeus'. Your tour will then continue into the historic neighbourhood of Plaka, one of the oldest and busiest areas of the capital.
Enjoy walking below the illuminated Acropolis to discover the Tower of Winds', a marble clocktower, and the Roman Agora, the first shopping court in history. You will also stop off at 'Hadrian's Library' before entering Monastiraki where you will marvel at the historic buildings and architecture of Psirri.
You will finish the tour at one of the best eateries in the area where you will enjoy an appetising evening meal and sample local Greek wine.

This is a great way to start a visit to Athens. Our Guide Elias was great - very knowledgeable and funny, too. We walked thought the city, some parks, the Plaka and he pointed out many highlights. We felt more comfortable the next few days because of what he showed us. Ended up at a family-run tavern with delicious, authentic Greek food. Conversation was delightful - felt we were all friends by the end of the tour.

This was a great way to get an overview if Athens. My guide Lef did a fantastic job showing me the highlights and providing background on what we saw. The stop for dinner was lovely.

We happened to be the only two in the tour and boy did we get a deluxe outing with our guide, Kostas. He was firery and energetic as he entertained us with Athens' food and culture. At the end of the night, my husband and I were thoroughly educated and entranced with this beautiful city, the neighborhoods, the restaurants, and the shopowners. We saw, we ate, we laughed, and we promised to come back and visit more of Greece.

What an amazing tour! It ended up being a private tour for the 2 of us. Maria took us on a walking tour for 2 hours which was amazing and we ended with a beautiful meal in a local place. She provided so much information and suggestions for our stay. Thank you for an amazing experience!

We have planned this tour for our start in Athens, on the evening of our arrival day. It was the perfect entry for our city break, great overview of the sights and neighborhoods of Athens. Cosy tour, almost like among friends, we were 2 couples with Kostas, our guide. Kostas had a lot of interesting information and tips for us and over dinner together in a cozy tavern, he ordered the best food for us. We were able to taste many typical dishes and one was tastier than the other. This tour was a pleasure, totally relaxed, interesting, varied and culinary delight.

Katrina was very knowledgeable and passionate about Athens. We saw things we would not have found on our own and tasted food we would not have thought of having. All very good.
