First Photo Stop – Ourika Valley Panorama About an hour into the drive, you reach your first viewpoint over the Ourika Valley. From here, the scene is breathtaking: the river cuts through the valley floor, villages cling to the hillsides, and snow-dusted Atlas peaks rise in the distance. 5.00Ishmael was an excellent guide. He spoke fluently in several languages, gave us a clear and engaging overview of the mountains’ history, and was genuinely helpful throughout the entire experience. We were a group of five and chose Option 2 — the food was great and definitely worth it. The hiking guide was also fantastic — very patient and attentive. We were celebrating my father’s 77th birthday, and although he is very healthy and fit, I would advise some caution for anyone aged 70+. The trail becomes quite slippery near the top. If someone is unsteady on their feet, I would not recommend this hike. Even those of us in our 30s had a few slips, so make sure you wear proper trainers with good grip.
