It is not a tour - we just got the ticket before. But that was ok, you don't need a guide. We went later in the morning and it works fine with the tickets. No need to exchange - just walk through to the cableway. Very smooth ride with stunning views along the way. When you get to the top, you can do a lot of things, from different walks to rides. Hiking to Bachalpsee is also very nice, though I struggle a bit.

The Grindelwald First cable car offers a scenic 25-minute ascent with stops along the way. The alpine views at every level are undeniably beautiful, and for first-time visitors, the experience may seem thrilling. As we got the ticket by Viator before, we did not have to queue up for 2 hours!

The walk is free…for 101 Swiss, ($200 AU) one adult could have got cable cart, up and down and 2 adventure activities…We paid $250 AU for a cable cart up down and a free walk! I should of done my homework…on me…

What a wonderful experience to see the Alps! I received the tickets by email three weeks in advance. Go to Grindelwald Station (this is the last stop) and walk about 10-15 minutes to Grindelwald First, where you take the funicular to the summit. There are three stops. The first two are where the adventures and activities are, and the last stop is the first, where you can do the cliff walk and the hikes for free.

Cable car to the top of Grindelwald, spectacular views! Well organized, not too much of a queue for cable car, though we could see there was a large queue for the flyer and go carts so we didn’t have time to do that. You can see at the point of boarding the cable car what is available and how long the queues are. We did the mountain walk at the top which was lovely, only takes about 15 mins, there was a queue for the part that stick out for people taking photos, which we didn’t wait for and do that - but you don’t have to if you are not bothered about this. We then got back on the cable car and got off at the station halfway down to go on the trotti bikes as we did have time for this and they were fantastic, highly recommend!! Such a lovely scenery as you coast down the bottom half of the mountain and back into Grindelwald.

Do not buy tickets through this site to grindelwald first. We paid way to much for the tickets via this site compared to tickets we eventually had to purchase at the gate. The pre purchased trip adviser / viatore tickets wernt accepted buy the operators of grindelwald first. We recommend highly going to visit grindelwald first as the experience was amazing but recommend to buy your tickets on site.

Do not pay this price, its a total scam. The Cliff walk is free. Just buy a lift ticket upon arrival.

First of all: breathtaking, amazing, stunning! And now, on to practical stuff: we bought combo tickets that included a bus ride from the parking, unlimited use of cable cars and 2 activities per person. We parked in the garage right where the bus picks you up and takes you to the Grindelwald First Cable Car station.). As you exit the parking structure, the bus will be on your right. Weather: we were there in August and on that specific day it was around 16C at the foot of the mountain and much colder on top. I mean, much colder! Hats/scarves and mittens much colder, especially if you are traveling with the kids. We were unfortunate with some bad weather during our visit, fog. Part of our rides on cable cars was covered with fog. The fog can clear as you go higher and then can come back again. Some activities WILL get delayed or CANCELLED altogether due to fog. We got really lucky to be the last ones to do First Glider and it shut down for the day after us due to fog. You will not get your $$ back, but you can do some other activities that will remain open (trott bikes and mountain carts). First Glider had over an hour wait. If we ever go back, I will not be buying tickets for activities beforehand, due to the fact that weather can alter your plans. You can actually pay for your activity as you are about to embark on one. There are pay machines right at the start of each activity (card only though). My family also did mountain carts which was a blast (another hour wait) and our kids did trott bikes down the mountains into the town. I didn’t do any activities which helped us split as I waited in lines why the rest of the family did the activities. We started walking on First Walk, it was raining and became very slippery. I didn’t realize how narrow that walk is, we ended up turning around as it didn’t seem safe at that point. All in all it was an absolutely amazing day, even with the bad weather. Our family had a blast!

It was all fun and amazing and beautiful… Even though it wasn’t a clear day, the experience was worth it

Total rip off. The "First Cliff Walk" is free anyway. Advertised here with Viator, you think you have to pay for this free experience. We could have bought the cable car tickets onsite and saved over $200AUD. I checked the price of the cable car whilst there, on our "self guided" tour. TOTAL RIPOFF. I sent an email thru my Viator app on my phone, but had no reply...
