• Northern Lights Guaranteed?... What a con!

  None of the tour companies should be able to use the word 'guaranteed' unless they actually mean it. This tour operator offers a free return trip to see the northern lights if the first night is unsuccessful. However, the operator states that if their photographer's camera picks up the northern lights in a photo, then that is considered successful. The problem is, the camera picks up a whole lot more than the human eye. So after about 4 hours travelling and seeing nothing we landed at a spot that had a small hint of green in one part of the sky behind a hill.... this was considered enough to be a successful viewing of the northern lights as their camera showed a whole lot more so the free return trip was therefore no longer valid. My view of the lights as the tourist should count, not a camera.... Vastly underwhelming and completely misleading. If you put photos to advertise the tour showing the aurora flashing all over the sky, then this should be the standard, there or thereabouts. As it was, the tiniest hint of green (I have seen more colour in the sky in my hometown in England) was considered just as valid as a grand aurora. Of course it's not their fault that the aurora didn't come out but it's a complete rip off to say 'guaranteed northern lights' when you barely see anything and then are deprived of the second opportunity which was promised. I think these companies only get good reviews on here because the people are happy about seeing the aurora when it happens and don't see the fact the operators are not really all that great, not this one anyway....

  Four family members participated. Marina, our guide, was also attentive and took many beautiful photos. Thank you 😆😆 I signed up quickly around noon on the day and was able to join that night! They picked me up in a van at the hotel and drove me back to the hotel. On the way, there was a person who collapsed unwell, and thank you very much for your prompt response 🥹 I feel fine now. Thank you for your concern. I'm sorry, The whole organisation was really good and the people were soo nice and they try their best to give you unforgettable moments... I'm so sorry that I retired in the middle 😢 It was cloudy and a little snowy that morning, and I was worried, but at night I could see the stars beautifully and see many aurora borealis. Thank you so much. You can take a lot of beautiful photos like postcards and even when you get home, you will be grinning at them 😎 My phone is so cold that I can't press the shutter anymore, so next time I go, I'm going to keep my phone warm!!!   Unforgettable experience! They took us from Rovaniemi to Sweden to find the Aurora. We were lucky to see a spectacular!!! The guides have incredible patience, are all coordinated and in touch at all times to find the best place! If they have to be there until 5:00 am they have no problems, their goal is always to look for a clear and unlit place to try to see the aurora. Although not everything depends on them they certainly do their best. Ricardo was our guide and the photographer of the activity. Your photos are spectacular!!!!   The experience was unforgettable, we had the chance to see and admire the Northern Lights in the best way possible. Our guide Manon, was super nice and Ricardo not only explained the natural phenomenon very well but also took several incredible photos. I recommend 100%.

  Total disorganization: The tour requires extreme punctuality, threatening not to wait for latecomers, and then making them wait more than an hour before departure. Basic communications about the length of the tour (2-9 hours) and not providing food and drink (promised instead in the online description) are given on the spot. I wish I knew before I could probably stay at -20 for 9 hours without food and hot tea. Once we arrived on site, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights immediately, spectacular for about 20 minutes, from there on the situation worsened: the guides completely abandoned us without any explanation and taking away the bus that had accompanied us. Fortunately for us there was another guide, not from our group, who proved to be much more responsible and concerned for our well-being. It was he who lit a fire and welcomed us to a tepee, which was particularly important since there were also two small children in the group. We waited there for over two hours without receiving any information about the return or the Northern Lights themselves. When the two guides finally reappeared, as if nothing had happened, they gave no explanation and to the question: where is the return bus? they kept answering ‘in 10 minutes it will arrive’ for more than 1 hour. No attention to the group. In conclusion, apart from the Northern Lights — which was a gift from nature and certainly not the result of the organization — the experience fell far short of expectations. If these are guides I am a flying reindeer.

  

• Overpriced Tour with Poor Service – Not Worth Booking Directly

  My experience with Nordic Unique Travel was very disappointing. I had specifically booked a guaranteed tour, expecting better service and priority treatment, but there was absolutely no difference in how I was treated compared to others who booked through cheaper third-party websites. The guide barely paid attention to us and the overall service was poor. There was no proper coordination or customer care. Paying a higher price directly through their website felt like a complete waste of money. I would not recommend booking tours with them. It’s expensive and the service does not match the price or expectations.

  Juan was absolutely exceptional. From the very beginning, he was professional, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He put a lot of effort into finding the best possible spot to see the Northern Lights, and his experience really showed. He made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the whole trip, explained everything clearly, and was always patient and positive. Thanks to him, we had an unforgettable experience and were lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights in a beautiful setting. I couldn’t recommend Juan more — if you’re looking for someone reliable, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to giving you the best aurora experience, he is the perfect choice. Wendy, who was driving the other group, was also wonderful. Highly recommended!
