You can count on many years of The Green Adventure Team experience, local knowledge and the finest photography. On the evening of the tour we will pick you up in front of Scandic Ishavshotel and set off on a comfortable journey in our minibus. In the minibus our expedition leader will do a small introduction about weather conditions, possibilities to see the lights and selected locations. We always work as a team, so we are in contact with other Aurora hunters to increase our chances.
Once we find the right place under the clear skies, we will get ready for the show. We will also set up a bonfire, that's the perfect time to warm up with a cup of hot drink and also roast some sweet marshmallows. By the time we will tell you some interesting stories from the north and legends about lady Aurora. Also you will have a chance to try "made in Tromso" soup, which is tailored for arctic expeditions. After the tour you will receive photos from our expedition leader.

A current valid passport is required on the day of travel as we may travel into Finland

Vegetarian and vegan option is available, please advise at time of booking if required. Also inform about allergies.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age 12 years old.
Be aware that access to proper toilets in Norwegian wilderness is very limited, sometimes even impossible. We highly recommend to use any toilet before a tour, because in many spots we don't have access to toilets during winter time.
Please inform us also about your thermal suit sizes (the same like your winter jacket), so we will make sure that we have proper size ready for you on board.
Tour is not suitable for cruise ship passengers, which are not staying overnight in Tromso. We do not guarantee that we will be back before cruise's departure as our priority is to see the northern lights. Contact us to organize private tour as an alternative

5.00I don’t even know where to begin… The Green Adventure, you fullfilled my dream of seeing the Northern Lights and helped capture the most magical photos of our engagement. We are so thankful for the way you took care of us, for your incredible patience, and the genuine connection you created with us (Julien even remembered us when we bumped into each other in Tromsø City Centre!). We loved how knowledgeable you are with what you do, and how you went an extra mile to drive us away from the city to find the perfect spot for the Northern Lights. I can’t recommend you enough and hopefully we see each other again in the future. All the best!

5.00Before booking this experience with The Green Adventure, I researched several tour operators, but ultimately chose them based on their excellent reviews and they truly lived up to their reputation. Our guide, Antonio, was absolutely fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and made sure to include everyone in the conversation throughout the entire tour. We stopped at four different locations to photograph the Northern Lights, which was breathtaking. That night, we were lucky enough to witness stunning shades of red, pink, and green dancing across the sky. A truly unforgettable night. At our final stop, Antonio set up a cozy bonfire where we enjoyed traditional soup, hot chocolate, tea, and marshmallows while connecting with fellow travelers from around the world. Since our apartment was near the city center, Antonio kindly offered to drop us off nearby so we wouldn’t have to walk alone at night — a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. I can only give this experience 5 stars but if I could, I’d rate it 100! I would absolutely book this tour again.

5.00This is an incredible experience. Travelling around Norway (we went up to Finland!) through all of these beautiful landscapes, the fireplace, the food and the leader JJ was incredible. We did see some faint northern lights, but as a natural phenomenon there is not much control around that. Such a fun experience!

5.00We did a Fjord Trip and a Northern Lights Chase on the same day with Green Adventure. They are very different experiences, and I would recommend both. For the Northern Lights Chase, Jess was our guide and Marcin was our driver. Jess was amazing. She has deep knowledge of the aurora and worked incredibly hard once we reached our campsite. The lights there were impressive but not very vivid, so it was great that Jess continued hunting on the drive back to Tromsø. We were able to pull over a few times and see much more vivid lights than we saw at the site, which we really appreciated. Marcin was also fantastic. He helped find my lost phone and even pulled over so we could take a picture of the van’s thermostat, which read negative 28.5°C. Jess followed up with us by email with recommendations around Tromsø, including excellent food suggestions. Highly recommend Green Adventure and this team.

5.00The green adventure where our Aurora saviours. Our original tour did not show up and they very kindly adjusted things to accommodate us at the very last minute. Wow what an amazing service and so friendly. Of course the ultimate was to experience the Aurora even if only fleeting (less then ten minutes) but it was truly amazing nature at its best provided by the the green adventure. Thanks

5.00We had a brilliant trip on New Year’s Day evening with The Green Adventure crew, and specifically JJ. The trip is as advertised and JJ did everything in his power to find the elusive lights for us , which he did ! There are no negatives to this trip , and would not hesitate to recommend this company and if we are to return to Tromso we would definitely book this trip again. Thank you for making our first ever northern lights sighting so memorable
