Our experienced guide will meet you at the bus & harbour terminal. Get ready for a 5 to 7 hour trip in the magical winter wonderland, in search of the Northern Lights. Dress warmly, we have warm wintersuits available. Or sit closely around our cosy bonfire (subject to weather conditions).
Troms
We will chase in the Troms region. Depending on the weather, and weather forecast we will travel out from the city. Some evenings we will be staying around the coast. Other evenings we will go towards inland. We have private camp locations all around the region, and we will sometimes use them, so we can stay at a private location instead of a shared parking lot with many other companies. These private locations also have toilets, which we can use.

I do not recommend booking with this company, even less if it’s last minute. They don’t give you any option to cancel if you book a day before. I booked not even 24 hours before and asked for a refund because the forecast is not good and they did not care. There are other, more responsible, companies who give you the option of canceling if the forecast is not good. It’s ridiculous that they say you have to cancel 48hrs before if the booking wasn’t even made 48hrs before, and they did not warn me this when I was booking at the counter.

Very nice experience of Aurora Safari Minibus with Amber and Magne who feasted us with information, anecdote and same songs and especially did not let go, until the end, despite difficult weather conditions to allow us to finally see aurora in a beautiful setting! Thanks again to them for the good humor, friendliness and dedication 😀.

My birthday was on December 23, and on that day I went with you on the Northern Lights tour. A photographer took pictures of me during the trip. I paid for the photos as well, but on the website there are only 4 photos from December 23. Could you please explain where the rest of the photos are? I would also like to understand why my photos (or the photos of other guests) were not uploaded, while only those 4 photos were selected. It feels unfair, as I also paid for this service. Additionally, I would like to mention that the food tasted like cleaning detergent, which was quite unpleasant. At the same time, I want to say that the guide was very good, the bus was comfortable, and we were lucky to see the Northern Lights ✨ I would appreciate your clarification regarding the photos.

This is our first visit to Norway and the Northern Lights tour was the first excursion we had booked. Anastasia was the perfect guide and was absolutely determined to find the perfect location for us. Her persistence paid off and we were blessed with the most magnificent display of lights, the best of the season so far (as described by Anastasia). Thank you for an amazing evening, we will never forget this experience!!

This is an honest review of our Northern lights tour with Best Arctic on December 2nd 2025. We got picked up in a small mini bus (maybe an 18 seater) for our Safari Northern Lights tour (6.45pm to 1.45am) Our guide Amber greets us all and off we went. 20 to 25 minutes into the tour, we stopped in what was a little car park and managed to see some faint Northern Lights. We continued on our journey for about another 1 and half to 2 hours on the mini bus, and Amber has not stopped talking from the moment we got on. Don't get me wrong, she is a lovely young lady, but boy can she talk....for nearly a whole 5 and a half hours non stop, there and back. On our 2nd stop, we were told I think that we were going into a house so people could get changed into thermal suits. But NO, we end up down a snow covered road. We're led to believe that we would be sitting round a camp fire, but NO, Amber gets out something that resembled a Wok but without the handle. The fire in the Wok was eventually lit and here we stood with Amber talking for the next 3 hours while looking for Northern Lights. With no lights, Amber said I'm now going to make you all a nice drink and cook you some food. Well, we got vending machi e cardboard cups with either coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Now for the cooking....we got something that resembled army packet or astronaut packed food with hot water poured into it......and this is cooking ????? It was terrible. We board the bus to go back to Tromso at about 12.30am hoping that we might all get a bit of sleep....but NO. Yes you guessed it, Amber was chatting again all the way home again. The trip, the road side location and the so called food was VERY VERY POOR and was not worth the money. I state yet again, Amber was a very friendly young lady that tried to give us information about Norway, but we also ended up learning all about her and our driver. What a waste of money and I would advise to avoid at all costs. You've been warned

My experience with Best Arctic for the Northern Lights Minibus Chase was profoundly disappointing and unacceptable. This tour was the main reason for our trip to Tromsø, and the company completely failed to deliver the service promised, especially for the premium price of the flexible minibus option. On November 30th, 2025, our guide made the decision to take us to a convenient, well-known "camp" instead of actively chasing the Aurora. Despite assurances that the guides were in constant contact with other agencies for real-time information, this clearly was not the case. The absolute proof of this failure is that friends of ours, who booked with a different company on the exact same night, were driven slightly further away and managed to see the Northern Lights beautifully and clearly. While we understand the Aurora is a natural phenomenon, when other companies successfully drive to the correct location and you do not, the responsibility lies squarely with the poor planning and lack of effort from the tour operator. We paid a higher price for the minibus expecting flexibility and more options to "chase" the lights, but were instead taken to the path of least resistance for the guides. This lack of effort and poor judgment is inexcusable and ruined a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us. Adding to the poor on-the-night service, the post-tour customer support regarding a requested full refund has been extremely unsupportive and slow, further demonstrating a severe lack of commitment to customer satisfaction. We trusted the positive reviews, but it appears they are very misleading. Based on our poor experience, the misleading promises, and the lack of professional service or support, we absolutely do not recommend Best Arctic to anyone looking for a quality Northern Lights experience. Book with a company that truly chases the Aurora.

The tour on March 7, 2025 was beautiful, thanks to our guide Yenka, sweet and who gave us a lot of interesting information about the aurora and how to photograph it. Unfortunately that evening we did not see the dawn because it was cloudy everywhere but it was a very pleasant evening. The aurora is a natural phenomenon and sometimes you have to be "content" to go in search of it without finding it. We ate soups, typical treats and drank tea around a fire on a wonderful fjord.

Our guide Rabi was excellent! Not only did he give us the history of Tromso but he also took us to see the Northern lights in places where no other tour buses were there. Unique and plenty of photos taken. The whole family loved it.

It was a wonderful experience. Our guide Jacob and the driver were very very caring, we received a lot of information, there was a fire, hot food and hot drinks and the best - super great photos. Absolute recommendation. Thank you to them both.
