From there we enter the colorful madness of the bus terminal, and instead of holding your hand, we teach you how to find the right chicken bus yourself. You'll be riding like a local in no time, confident to travel Guatemala on the public transportation. The bus takes us to a local Mayan village outside of Antigua. Hang on for a wild ride!

The bus drops us in Santa María de Jesús, a Mayan village just outside Antigua where tourism hasn’t smoothed the edges. We explore the market and build a picnic from fresh local produce, eating the way families do, right in the middle of the action.
